I messed around with the monk strategy statue years ago but the xp gain messes up sometimes and its kind of awkward with pigs periodically flying at you (you'll see what I mean). Plus its damn fiddly shifting in and out of the group. Umrentv solved some of the problems by using a los strategy, but its kind of a mess and I can't recommend it unless you are the type of person who likes a challenge, realistically most people will prefer questing despite the slight loss of xp per hour.

I think an important part that is not being considered is the comparison includes the XP buff that was on retail prior to pre-release. If we half whatever was xp gained in the retail leveling portion of the video and compare that to pre-relase then the gap is much better and leveling is significantly faster. I only mention this as the 60% comments made by blizzard at the start of the video was pre-xp buff.

You need roughly 630 pet battles to go from 10-50 with no modifiers and 435 with the best modifiers, not counting any holiday buffs (potion and Alliance warmode -- mind you, these latter numbers are bit off, since you can only do warmode from lvl 20). Feeding yourself 30 second wins non-stop is not really possible though, plus you have to consider mending pets as well. The quickest battles can be as low as 30-40 seconds, sure, but a more realistic average would be 70-80 seconds. Furthermore, the percentages diminish the higher your level; around 13.67-15.07% per win at lvl 10, and 2.79-3.91% per win at lvl 49. Under the best of circumstances, the time to do this would end up in the range of 8.58 hours (plus change as warmode doesn't kick int till lvl 20) up to 12.24 hours. This is with 70 second average battles, which may be hard to achieve; my own testing resulted in about 88 second average going 24-50 in 11 hours.

Im finding you can cheat the system in another way for quest XP, especially in dungeons. Come out of chromie time, Accept quest, complete dungeon, leave dungeon go back into chromie time, go back to dungeons, scoop up quest xp

pet battle at lvl 30 gives 9% of a lvl. I found a spot with lvl 25 wild pets where i can win a fight every 1min20sec (start a fight, win, move, start a figth, not just fighting time) it means i can win 45 fights in 1 hour . it decreasses eficiency with every lvl. i have fully tested this average 1 lvl every 15 min

For the monk dungeon tip: So I remember during Wrath Athene used this type of method to get to 80 first. He asked Blizz, and they told him it was just a clever use of mechanics. However because this leveling was so fast, he was susbended. They also took away his levels.

lol yah, even though the monk method is tricksy, his method was a little tricksier. I was just starting in Wrath, but in this method the carry is at least doing the killing; Athene didn't even do that. They rounded enemies up in dungeons, Athene tagged, and then the group killed w/o him. That said, definitely be careful if y'all decide to do anything like this. I tried for a couple weeks to get an answer from the GMs about whether this was ok. The ToS says that cheating is anything they deem against the rules, but they won't say whether anything is against the rules before you do it. So while tricks like this are fun, I recommend being overly cautious.

So figured out the pet levelling in WoD, had to trick some scripts - but now I can lvl pets and myself at the same time. It's super boring, but kinda afk work. You can do it quicker without levelling pets, but why not do a 2for1 as we had 200% from the pet week -50sec pr fight.

on the PTR w/ no addons so going by memory only I hit 50 in just over 12 hours ( about a week before 9.1 ) in WoD content. The rub here is that I only did the opening quest chain for the portal, garrison & follower. The rest was all gained by treasures & bonus objectives. **so w/ early flying & exp potion & addons this could be a lot faster.

Meh, just giving you movement speed for no reason is good and all, but after you finish leveling and start using normal gear, it's gonna feel bad without movement bonus. They could've made something like a Killstreak bonus (like Diablo one, kill a ton of mobs get more EXP), maybe do the same with quests (making questing hubs even better and this feeling of going back to hub and completing 10 or 20 quests at the same time.... EXP from pet battles is nerfed now. A lv49>50 character now takes 24mins+ instead of 12mins at Rydyr (with anniversary buff) People saking for spots. 45-50 best spot is Rydyr in legion when the WQ is up (get 3 pets with 280+ speed, 2 with explode ability and last with mechanical damage - 2x explode and mechanical skill should kill it every 30seconds). lv10+ the golden civet at vale is pretty good (west side of vale, above the flight path, there is a pond where you can battle about 5-8 pets within a 10yard radius that spawn every 10mins. They can be killed within 60-70 seconds with a moth group.

With the dungeon method you are supposed to invest a lot of gold as you level, basically lightly twink as you go. Get really good enchants on your all of your boas, socket gems into your boa weapons if you have the SoO boas, and then buy blue items off the ah. It costs about 5-10k gold for the boa enchants and gems, and then about 4-8k per 10 levels for the ah blues.

Pet battles are absolutely nerfed, I did one on several different characters at different levels, all with heirlooms and rested EXP although I am not sure that matters, I was getting very little XP regardless of level. I didn't test any super low level characters, the lowest was 17. It's definitely not worth it for leveling. Now if the pet battle week also increased character XP by 200% from the battles maybe it could be worth it, but as it stands it's not worth it for leveling, it's going to be slower than just about any other method you could think of.

Others are having trouble getting into a certain expansion; the intro quest for it REQUIRES talking to Anduin, and on pre-patch he's been yeeted off to Shadowlands with Turalyon sitting in his spot. The quest can't be done.

One of the Druid ones requires stealth and it took my friend a good few minutes of dying to realize that the ability is given to you. Kinda lazy of Blizzard imo cause the point of those quests was to use your big brain to figure out what ability to use to bypass an obstacle (for most of them at least). Simply handing the ability to you doesn’t teach new players how to use the warlock gate for example because they may not know they get it at a later level.

Athene did a similar method at Wrath launch to be first 80. He was reverted and temp-banned. It was slightly different but still used the same group disband/regroup method after tagging mobs in dungeons. I wouldn't do it.

7:09 I want to say about 2 years ago I was helping a guildie level up " a very new player player" I was using my Max leveled monk and followed him " not grouped" I would throw down my statue to argo every mob he needed in an area and was able to pull over 50 mobs at a time dragging them all over the area just be moving my statue. I got reported from a random player :P After a GM talked to me about what I was doing, he said it was fun. Seeing my guildie had a quest for those mobs, I was good on how I was pulling everything for him. So, I would say you are good and it's just using game mechanics to help people level. Have you tested the "afk" pet battle script in Dalaran when there are the good and fast trainers up for power leveling pets.. Since we all know Squirt doesn't give charcter xp, but the dalaran ones do.. I leveled a bunch of characters from 60ish to 80 by doing that on pet battle weeks when I was bored.. it requires a few bandages.. unless you can get to "Snail Fight" in Highmountain when that world quest is up, then it requires a few Teroclaw Hatchlings and 0 bandages.. used to be good xp, and no movement of character involved and around 1 min fights.

If you have a stockpile of bandages, the best ones currently for Power Leveling is "Snail Fight!" with 8 rounds (typically around ~60 seconds) using the Unborn Val'Kyr/Baby Ape(PP) strat, and "Beasts of Burden" vs. Andur with 5 rounds (typically around ~40 seconds) using the Iron Starlette(Any) strat. Yes, these are both faster than Squirt. The downside of Beasts of Burden is that it chews through bandages quickly. Great for Character power leveling as it gives full player experience for the fight, but gives about half the rate of experience for pet leveling as the other Legion trainers.

Rydyr world quest takes 30 seconds between getting exp, 3 rounds/attacks. 2x explode pets (280+ speed and a high health explode pets) and 1 280+speed mechanical damage pet to finish it off. I timed 49>50 and it took be 12mins and 16 seconds. That was before the nerf that was applied this week (they nerfed the EXP gained by 2x).

My opinion is that the monk strategy is NOT expressly cheating. BUT they can’t give you the go ahead because there are many reasons that this can be used and abused for profit or grief, and because of the possibility of this action being ban able they can’t give the go ahead. Also, strategy’s like this are what help blizzards anti cheat team detect new bot programming, they watch people using leveling bots, and step in to ban if there is collateral damage. Lol-maybe I’m paranoid

I see little to no increase in the amount of levels I get with or without rested xp. Imma just mention I leveled 10 characters from lvl 1 to 115+ before prepatch and the rested xp was almost useless.

Well that was the theory behind bonus XP in the first place. Initially I think they had it so your XP/kill and XP/quest slowed down the longer you were online. But that felt like players were being punished. So rather than punishing for playing longer, they designed rested XP which rewards players who take breaks. Same outcome but different presentation. The heirloom reward system wasn't really in line with that mindset, so it makes sense that they changed it. I'm not mad, easier leveling overall. Better storytelling. Systems that work together rather than against each other. Shadowlands improves the design of the game by a lot.

@@InkDevil999 ​ @InkDevil it takes 8 hours to get 5% rested xp. 160 hours for 1 level of rested xp and the cap of rested exp is 1,5 levels which means it takes 10 days sitting in an inn to get the max rested bonus which is used extremely fast with the amount of xp that you get in retail from killing mobs / opening treasures etc. so even if you play 1 hour a day you will only have about 15% rested exp.

Not notice the ding is a necessary evil for the fast leveling experience. If we had more meaningful ding would mean slower level and let's face it, wow content nowadays is at level cap. The sooner you get there, the better. This reminds me the contradictory speech of the players. "Oh leveling in vanilla was better and meaningful." then in classic proceeds to leveling in dungeon's spellcleave groups all the way to 60. So meaningful.

Tried it, liked it. Took roughly 2 levels for me to carry a pet from 5 to 25, but my average pet battle time is about 3 with movement which resulted in 18 minutes per level (math didn't really work there lol). That was in draenor so I'll keep hunting for the sweet spot!

They are borderline useless now if you quest. They no longer give bonus EXP, their stats are mediocre and can be outperformed by quest greens, 60% rested EXP bonus is useless if you play a lot, having a "nova blast" after a ding is useless as most of your dings are in safe areas after completing a quest. So 3 out of 4 set bonuses are utterly useless, what a waste of gold.

@@ShadowZeroFlame this is just my preference, but I like that they are like quest greens because I want the benefit to using them to be as close to marginal as possible. These are just my thoughts on the matter: 1. They have the benefit of keeping a transmog look (which many people care about). 2. For speedrunning, they save minutes/seconds of inventory management. this also opens up new speedrun strats (X green helm is better than heirloom for Y levels, etc.) 3. Keeping enchants is a big stat buff that pushes them over greens as well. I think they are in a good spot, as the rested set bonus works out great for people who either have to play in small bursts, or enjoy leveling multiple toons in a rotation. We also have to consider the context for when this "Heirloom nerf" happened. It came at the patch that saw the fastest leveling speeds in the history of the game. People are leveling in 6-18 hours /played. This base "xp boost" to the game is equivalent to buffing the heirlooms in old wow by even more. So, on net, everyone's leveling speed is insanely fast now compared to ever before.

Really depends on the pets your battling, what you have access to, and how close to a stablemaster you are. At my little spot I was farming at, there's a stablemaster on the other side of the house so it's ezpz. If you have a rank 3 pet menagerie, you can heal every 4 minutes. But if you don't have those or a bandage stockpile, then you need to have a little self healing. That'd be a different set than the master blaster one-shot comps

Think he forgot to put a 1 in front of the 4 hours. Battle pets are decent but not that good. Have yet to see a force respawn and I am in the same location this guy is (Eternal Blossoms). I am having to travel between 2 spots to battle. 1 Hitting just about every mob in the battle, if not 2, and still takes me about 30-40 minutes per level. Just stick to dungeons, because the extra grind to get gear at 50 because you pet battled from 10-50, is going to take hours.

Yah, I had a much longer version of that rant recorded where I went into that, lol. And actually, that was the catalyst for the whole thing, asked the GMs about that specifically but they didn't ever address the question. A big difference is that Athene wasn't the one killing the enemies. He tagged and everyone else killed, and after that debacled they instituted XP proportional to the amount of damage you dealt in the open world. He also asked for permission beforehand and was told that mob tagging was fine. So by 10-years-ago blizz standards, mob tagging and allowing your guild kill things open world is fine, mob tagging and allowing your guild kill things in dungeons is cheating. I pushed so hard on this because the nuance obviously matters to blizz, and affects y'all's account security. I'm tired

Depends on what you're fighting against. The little bug things in frostfire need different teams than these guys or the drustvar crabs. And the best team depends on the pets you have available. Lots of different spots and team comps, but they all give the same XP

Go to Pandaria - to Mistfall Village (34,27 78.99) and use Ikki with the Savage Talon just spam 1's and you're done, and heal when dead that's it

Isnt the Monk strategy the same as method Athene got banned for during Wotlk launch race to 80? Its based of the same principle by leaving party mob taging in dungeon to funnel the xp to one character. Great video though!

Has anyone seen the new bug that allows mages to boost people? You get a low lvl mage spec arcane then lock your lvl cap to 10 twink your gear and uiy cns 1 shot anything in a dungeon and just smash dungeons for people in minutes it's absolutely insane

@@Aearon1 all I know is I qued into burning crusade chromie time dungeon I was lvl 45 and in less than 30 mins I was lvl 50 no shit and it was a lvl 10 mage who locked his lvl cap and twink his items and was arcane that's all I know

Zhào Liǔ I leveled a toon through BC, no dungeons, just because I still needed loremaster for 4 of the zones. Not everyone goes for speed, especially right now when there is nothing to do at end game.

@Zhào Liǔ I personally dont like the Dungeons in WoW. Group content is way to toxic and when you dont adhere to the norm your enjoyment of the game decreases because you dont play "optimal". Also people always rush Dungeons, and when there is a wipe argue or just leave. There is no communication anymore besides accusations. Also just quienign for one dungeon after another to level fast defeats the purpose of level content, quests and story.

Quickest team I've found is 2 P/P Junglebeaks. (from WoD) plus something to whack the odd flyers you have to fight as seconds (example is for MoP wild pets near No No). You can do 3x 'Beaks and that works too, but something that can 2-shot the flyers would be better.

The spot I was at is old vale next to Aki. Behind the hut with the stable master. I chose three stormborn whelplings for consistency of testing, and was able to do 40 battles per hour. The gilnean raven or a power crow could do more. Lots of good options, but essentially just find a couple strong-ass birds. There are lots of better farming spots out there, explore XUFU or warcraftpet guides for those. Crabs in northeastern Drustvar, bug things in the middle of Frostfire Ridge,

I doubt that GMs will expressly authorize anything, they are problem solvers in limited ways, not really your dad giving you permission to go on a field trip or not. Also, they have new farms they need to nerf, new issues they need to nerf from new changes in Prepatch, and and and SL they need to nerf into the ground to force their broken systems they are too pigheaded to just drop. So I think there will be NO worries on this, esp since you have done that in your videos for a while now. They def watch these channels and review farms pushed to the max. GGs.

ok trying the pet battle levelling method right now, seems good. nice and brain dead leveling, just how i like it. but the only problem with it is you dont get any rewards or upgrades or gold, so if youre fine with that this might be good. i need to find a spot though where there arent any mobs to deal with. edit: im level 46, full heirlooms, have rested exp, stormsong valley, random pet battle. i get 6000k exp. my total exp ~120k. thats only 5%. how are you getting 13%? calculating backwards, that should be 15600 exp. but im not getting anywhere near that. where are you pet battling? or are those numbers for lower levels? went to northrend, still roughly 5%

You do get little goodies here and there. Pet battle stones and things like that. Rarely, but it happens. 13% was 8.3 numbers. Scaling down at about ~2.5 levels : 1 level, that should be about 5%, but it was 10% on the PTR. A couple people have said this so good news is that if it was a bug, they fixed it.

Leveling Tips: Premake ranks 1-5 Relics for: wrists, belt, gloves, boots and rings if u don't have the looms. this way u get a great set at each relic rank.

@@brandonneifert3199 Specificly for example for leather workers u want to craft the frostscale set because it gives a 4 set bonus to agility and crit. so having the wrists, boots, belt, and gloves for that set at each level give u a nice boost

Good for you, looking out for the vast amounts of time people have put into this game: Bans don't get handed out to strictly malicious players, and this communication blackout (while obviously intended to weed out the bad) will inevitably catch regular folks in the crossfire. I'm sure there are many other methods of "exploiting" that a rushing player will think is just a clever leveling method. Blizzard seems to try more and more each year to alienate more people, and I've known players who have lost inordinate amounts of time after stumbling onto an unintended bug/exploit. These were not power gamers, nor WF racers. Among them, some have quit MMOs entirely and others are enjoying games like FFIV. Either way, Cheers for your always awesome work.
