I still think this was originally intended to be a Blaster Master sequel, then Sunsoft bought the rights to use the Addams Family and slapped Fester into the game. Kind of the reverse of what happened when Sunsoft tried to make a Terminator game and had to put it out as “Journey to Silius” when the rights lapsed.

Same game engine, same sounds, similar Bgm music, obviously it's a Blaster Master sequel. But "something strange things happened" and then took the decisition to make it an Addams Family game.

A sunsoft game through and through (aesthetically at least, it's way jankier than their usual output), with a loose addam's family coat of paint. Bizarre premise, although I guess Uncle Fester wouldn't like aliens messing up the neighborhood

Same feelings here. Beating this game was no easy task and some of the bosses are nigh impossible to hit with just your regular weapon. Often times you have to spam missiles

I agree that this game feels really off for The Addams family. Sure I could see Fester moonbathing. Sure I could see him using something similar to a blunderbuss gun; who knows what they have collected over the years throughout generations. But him fighting aliens? That feels so off. Feels like this might have been another game originally; like how Super Mario Brothers 2 was a different game originally. Look up Super Mario Bros 2 I am totally serious. it wasn't originally a Mario game.

It was a Castlevania like game with this guy wielding a sword, it had modern like graphics in fact I think it was on steam but I'm not too sure. This game was very off-putting to me as a kid and I remembered the opening for some reason, gave me unsettled feelings. There had been a host of Addams Family games around this period and later. This one is the most unrewarding and tedious of the bunch. At least Fester would have a better game in the Addams Family Values titles after this one, a lot more in tone of the series.
