wow. I didnt' know there were any live performances of him and Grisman. This is some of my favorite stuff. He really missed a calling as a folky. I mean, I obviously love his work with the Dead, but this stuff proves that he was the greatest rock guitarist ever. Yes, I put him past Hendrix and Clapton - MILES past them. Also, I have been playing guitar for 25 years, so I am qualified to say that. Had Jerry lived, I could see him going more in this direction. Instead of being in a huge rock band traveling to another city every night of his life... he could have settled down and done studio sessions of this sorta stuff. Think if we had Bob's Tri Studios and all its capabilities for Jerry to record and perform in. I miss you, you magnificent fat dead bastard. You were the greatest! You still are!

@ensinitas4 жыл бұрын
i got a chuckle from your remark. i decided years ago that dylan is a crucial part of history but that almost everyone does dylan better than dylan does dylan. guess that's what happens when your songs are that good...everyone makes a run at them and many blow by for reasons of interpretation for greater musical skill. and we are the beneficiaries!
@davegrabowski61234 жыл бұрын
@@ensinitas Jerry Garcia's side bands and the grateful dead played a lot of Dylan songs. JGB plays the best because Jerry solos for seemingly endless amounts of time and always beautiful. Listen to jerry do POSITIVELY 4th street. The guitar does the part dylan could not do. Dylan was a lyracist,poet,troubadour and Jerry was a very well trained musician.
