​@@Treevors30before they played off the bass and beat, here he's bouncing off the beat landing bars and finishing on heavy thuds that set up the rebound for the next line, and loops into the chorus. Today they are all rhyming, and letting the beat not be emphasised on, instead adopting word play to twist around and let the beat come second. It's exchanging flow for lyrical dynamism.
