You better keep your mouth shut because even Lt Gen Jagjit Singh Aurora who was then the commander of eastern front of Indian Army said in an interview that Muktibahini did 75% of the war and we did 25% and we fulfilled their war. We got arm and logistic support to fight our own war that's how we got our independence and we are thankful to India for that. Indo-pak war was started after 3rd December when Pakistan attacked India because they actually didn't want to surrender to Mukti Bahini because of several reasons specially they were afraid of revenge and war crime that's why they approached Indian Force by attacking them so that they could surrender to a professional army who follow Geneva rules. Actually they lost in the war against Muktibahini before starting Indo-Pak war.

Unfortunately Bangladesh has been in the grip of Bloodshed. In 1975, August 15,army officers killed Mujeeb and 18 members of his family! It was terrible, brutal crime. Army may have anger against Mujeeb ,but why women and children were killed. Once bloodshed starts, there is revenge ---- and then counter-revenge. A vicuous circle of bloodshed starts. So tragic is this. With so much difficulty, Bangladesh achieved independence from Pakistan. But then Bangladesh descended to horrible political bloodshed. The after effects of this bloodshed are still there.

Shafiullah mentions Indian soldiers killed in helicopter crash. Why did army send helicopter for maintenance to India on August 14th when the next day is India's Independence Day? Also what were Indian soldiers doing in Bangladesh? What was their job in Bangladesh after liberation. I think Bhutto's visit to Bangladesh in 1974 had something to do with Mujib killing.

Tbh, army then was not well structured like it is now... And on the basis of service since pakistan military, many high ranking officers like zia were more assertive, had strong support base in the military... Almost all senior and mid tier officers knew what was going to happen... Things were actually quite bitter between AL, rokkhi bahini and Military. And by the time shafiullah knew about all these, it was too late....even him issuing direct orders wouldnt save the president. There's chain of command in the military, u cant just issue order to anyone without proper channel.... And since other officers knew and didnt stop them in the beginning, would they actually take in fruitful steps after receiving orders? They could just delay their assemble after receiving order.things are not as simple as we think.
