I am Eddie Cohen, tenor saxophonist with Les Skah Shah on and off from 1977 to 1992. I was not in this performance, but it brings back wonderful memories of Skah in its heyday. Special mention I'd like to make here is for the late, great Mario Mayala on guitar....his loss was a great setback to the Kompa movement... ... as there was never a more dedicated musician than he. He quietly devoted himself 100 percent to Skah Shah and was a large part of the backbone of the Kompa movement.

First off let me just say nice to greet you. Skah Shah has been my favorite kompa band growing up. I was born in 1995 and I have had all their records, tapes, CDs, etc to this day. May I ask who the bass player was in this video please? Thank you so much for filling my childhood and present day with great music from all of your hard works. Ç'est du vrai bonheur d'écouter cette chanson du Skah Shah. Cette chanson m'a fait voyager à travers le temps pour retrouver ma folle jeunesse. Le groupe Skah Shah c'est un vrai trésor culturel haïtien qui mérite d'être préservé. Il est temps de revoir tous les membres du Skah Shah se réunissent fraternellement pour apporter de la bonne musique qui nous manque tant. La nouvelle génération ne fait que piétiner la musique haïtienne avec un amalgame de bruits et de sons qui n'ont rien à voir avec la culture musicale d'Haïti. Merci Skah Shah.
