I’m a revert and totally agree with Musa and abu Bakr.i come from a similar background as you two(urban,street) been a revert for 3 years and alhamdulilah Allah blessed me with good Muslim brothers that never put pressure or misguided me with false info or their culture on me and taught me the deen of the prophets’s way and the sahabas step by step with patience (sabre).Everything fell in place with time and patience and Islam was easy to practice From praying 5 obligatory prayers to Sunnah prayers as time went by step by step.Learning the deen is the best thing I can advise reverts.Mat Allah reward you two brothers for your efforts because you speak for the reverts what really goes on and I can relate.

Great advice as always akhiis nd new studio looking fresh , 1 thing you said we can't go to Christmas celebrations, I asked a ulima and he said it's permissible to attend with intention to spend time with family and keep ties as Allah has commanded us to not break ties. Allah allam.

Ismael Poet r2j - A qualified Ulima or ustad that has done at least the standard 7 years of islamic schooling said this to me. He didn't say yes go. He said if you do go make sure it is not with the intention to celebrate Christmas then you shouldn't fall into kufr or shirk and to keep family ties and give dawah.
