I Remember seeing this innings LIVE on TV as a child and there’s no shame in admitting that it was really *hard* to watch this innings as an Indian..but deep down..anybody who saw this innings knew that this was a pure genius at work..it was sad that Afridi’s talent with the bat wasn’t utilised completely by Pakistan. He could have been groomed a little bit more rather than being criticised always . He had a different way of doing things just like all geniuses but perhaps he didn’t deserve the amount of criticism that he received every time.

The significance of this innings cannot be described in present days of T20. Back in 2005, The continuous hitting of Afridi particularly in this match made us crazy (who were present in the Black and White Television set.) The whole India team were in a fix, they were in a conundrum to handle Afridi, unbelievable and non stop hitting... I still enjoy this match when i watch it.
