SGA isn't the MVP, he has 4 of of top 10 defenders in the league at their position, and he has the most help. Jokic leads the league in VORP, BOX plus minus, On-Off numbers. And If JOkic wasn't on the nuggets they would be the second coming of wizards lol.

Jokić is in a class of his own and the question is whether he is in the top 3 or 5 players of all time and he is playing his best basketball in his life. So he is now competing in size with Jordan and Larry Bird, and the question is whether he is more useful than a good scorer who plays in the currently strongest team in the league. For me, this is the man who played the best game in history called basketball, not athletics, high jump, long jump, running, etc.

I don’t think it’s because he’s European that the United States don’t want him to win another MVP. To tell you the truth it’s awesome that a white man with little athleticism is dominating the NBA. If I am honest with you it’s a race thing. SGA he’s from Canada and I think news outlets like ESPN have black journalists that make everything about race. I believe Joker deserves the MVP but they will use any excuse to not give it to him. I find it funny because those same journalists are saying things like player fatigue and want new people to win the MVP. In the same time in the NFL a black quarterback named Lamar Jackson won the MVP a couple of times but not the Super Bowl. They are already talking about how legendary and deserving is Lamar on winning a 3rd MVP. The weirdest thing is the American journalist in ESPN that are majority black Americans didn’t want Joker to win more MVP since he never won the championship. That’s why they gave it to Embid that year. It’s a lot of politics in the NBA and that’s why a lot of Americans are refusing to watch it.

I do think that it's a little weird that you listed offensive rating and net rating but not defensive rating, but also, I think that the advanced statistics are close enough that narrative matters and team success, as well as how far Shai is carrying a team that's had pretty poor injury luck this season, make for a compelling narrative. I'm a Thunder fan but sincerely I think both players would be right choices if they won. But also, much as we instinctively think of voter fatigue as unfair, I think it's understandable to feel that Jokic's last five seasons aren't collectively worth 4 MVPs. I would argue that even if he's consistently been one of if not the best players over the past five years, it's consistently been by a slim margin with other players around him having solid cases for being at or near his level, even if which players those have been has changed over that period. But again, I'm a Thunder fan so this may be somewhat motivated reasoning when it's convenient for me.

To keep it simple JOKIC is in a bad team. SGA is in a good team. Take away Jokic, you have a below .500 team out of the play-in. You remove SGA and CHET, they're 5th - 8th seed. Not to take away from SGA, he's just the cherry on top of a very delicious sundae. OKC has 4 other players ranking high in "+/-" league-wide, Denver has JOKIC alone in that. I understand SGA fans want to give him his flowers but objectively speaking, Jokic is more of an impact player and we can literally see it in every stat and eye test. Journalists just don't like a whitey anymore on that pedestal.

The best player in the league is not always the MVP. LeBron James did not win 10 MVPs, despite the fact he was obviously the best player for years and years. Can we all just agree he is the best player, but he is not the MVP frontrunner, because he is simply not winning enough.

To touch on the winning point: it's not his fault Denver isn't an atractive destination for star players...also it's not his fault they got destroyed by the apron even though they grew their championship team almost fully organically and they still had to lose players. Shai is playing great right now and his team is leading the west and maybe the league, but sga edge in scoring comes mostly from the line, shai shoots more free throws than jokic, about 2+ a game, but jokic lead shai in shooting percentage except free throws, averaging 13+ rebounds and 10+ assists, almost doubling that of shai..leading in PER ..the highest ever and in all advance stats..but then shai may win MVP, but jokic is the best NBA player not only this year, but the last 5 years..
