One of the rare guitarist on the planet that you "know" it's him playing, without knowing it's him playing. If I'm in a restaurant, or whatever and I hear music being played over the speakers and I hear someone playing the guitar --- I will know if it's Chris or not. That is special indeed.

Just as my very personal statement, after several decades of enjoying music as one of the best parts of my life, these days I many times rank Chris Standring above Eric Clapton, above Pink Floyd, above The Beatles and above Mark Knopfler or Jean-Michel Jarre, to name just some of my all-time greatest idols. I do, because Chris has one "pattern" that just makes me love his music so much, and listen to him so often: An absolutely superb musicality through and through, a totally cool and relaxing perfection, always a good mood in his melodic rhythms and a smile on his face, and on top a totally unique style, that is just different from anything else -- but totally enchanting, because it comes without any pressure or any "extra effort to enforce a difference for the sake of being different".
