Hey Flocab, I’m not able to message you in-game so I’ll address your tweet about me in this comment section. I have no problem with creators who make bad gameplay. I get everyone has to start somewhere and I love and respect all creators for taking the initiative to learn game design through GD. That being said, what I do have a problem with is this abominable gameplay being forced on the entire player base. At this point, every new rated level is going to have hundreds to thousands of top star grinders playing it. If a level is underrated or misrated when it shouldn’t have been rated in the first place, all of those players are forced to suffer or risk losing leaderboard rank. (Before you say it, yes we don’t have to play every level, but a lot of star grinders are OCD about this sort of thing, this is especially a problem for me as I’m trying to beat all 6/7 star levels eventually) As a result, I believe the moderators have a big responsibility to ensure all rated levels are properly playtested. If you look at the comments of other victors of the unnerfed version of ZHENCORE by VicDash78, they all seem to agree the level is annoying with buggy transitions and unsightreadable gameplay for a 7 star level. A competent moderator either wouldn’t have sent this level or would have sent it for easy demon instead of 7 star. Because this mod didn’t do his or her due diligence, the entire Top 1000 stargrinding community is forced to suffer. Is one creator’s happiness worth 1000 player’s misery? I don’t think so. I hope this clarifies my perspective. I dedicated a challenge titled “Flocab Never Clear” to you to commemorate this drama. Its ID is 108548095. I look forward to seeing your leaderboard entry on either this challenge or ZHENCORE (I couldn’t find a record from you yet so I assume you haven’t played it yet)

i fully understand your perspective, and i think its totally fine if you feel frustrated when a level with sub-par gameplay gets rated, but commenting the stuff you said isn't really excusable imo, it was unhelpful and rude, especially considering that the creator was expressing that they were trying to update the level to improve the gameplay. I can't drive the point home enough that the creator was actively trying to fix the gameplay issues, and instead of trying to help them, you ridiculed them in the comment section. While the creator of this level was extremely mature, and wanted to make their gameplay as good as possible, you have to understand that the language you used would make most creators far less likely to update their levels or try to improve their gameplay in the future, so if you actually care about this, i would highly recommend toning down your rhetoric in the future.

@@flocabGDLet’s not rewrite history: VicDash78 already commented he was planning on updating the level before I made my first “toxic” comment. Check the comments in chronological order if you don’t believe me. I’m a firm believer in the Carrot & Stick approach when it comes to creators. Praising good creations and ridiculing bad creations gives creators motivation to make their level as good as possible. Hence, I said the level was “Absolutely Horrible” before the update and “Absolutely Incredible” after the update - Something you conveniently left out when you tweeted I’m “still mad.” I’m sick of you Twitter White-Knighters defaming GD players who take the competitive side of the game seriously. Let’s not forget you’re the one who taunted coin grinders by refusing to update your level to fix a coin that was made impossible by 2.2. Spare me the self righteous attitude.

@@WKGamesMain flocab alt here, im too lazy to switch to my main. first of all, why are you saying i tried to rewrite history? nothing i said implied any sort of time order, and you saying that your comments came after the creator saying they would update the level only further proves my point lol. for the carrot on a stick argument, we'll have to agree to disagree (though keep in mind that i am the creator here who may have more insight into how creators would engage with commenters, just saying). for the twitter stuff i'm not really sure how to engage with your argument, because i'm not entirely sure what you think i said. i was saying you were mad at me, not hating on the level, and that still seems to be the case, so idk. also the impossible coin was based af, and my only regret is making it possible again.

@@FlocabGD2You finished your point by stating “the language you used would make most creators far less likely to update their levels or try to improve their gameplay in the future” - this strongly implies it was a question whether VicDash78 would continue creating when I made my comment - a rewrite of history. It’s a cop out to state the truth, strongly imply a defamatory falsehood, then say “but I already stated the truth!” - this is called gaslighting. I wanted to make the point about Vic promising an update beforehand crystal clear. This is specifically why my original comment specified “Absolutely Horrible (Unnerfed) Level” - I included (Unnerfed) because I knew a nerf update was coming and was trying to motivate VicDash78 to fix everything wrong with the level. There’s no question it needed to be said as other victors of the Unnerfed version had similar negative sentiment. It is not unreasonable to demand good gameplay in rated levels. Less than 0.05% of uploaded levels get rated, so there should be an expectation of quality in every rated level. In my opinion this responsibility should lie with the GD moderators when they send the levels to RobTop, hence why the primary target of my comment was the mod who sent the level in the first place. There wouldn’t be any hateful comments on Vic’s level to begin with if it was never rated by an incompetent moderator. Anybody who read my comment in good faith would recognize the message was that the mod has higher blame than the creator, but that doesn’t get you as many Twitter likes as defaming a stranger on the Internet while White Knighting. And by the way, creators who knowingly refuse to update buggy levels belong right with the mods in the exile department. I had to wait 4.5+ months for Futhark by ZakKest to be updated by a mod before I could finally finish all 4/5 star levels. I’m never getting that time back, but at least ZakKest never taunted me about it. Meanwhile you got 1700 likes spitting in the face of serious coin grinders. What a sick joke!

@WKGamesMain yeah, so again you've entirely just misunderstood my point. Apologies if it wasn't worded very well, but i wasn't trying to say that your comments had an effect on the creator of that particular level, thats why i said "While the creator of this level was extremely mature, and wanted to make their gameplay as good as possible," and when i said "the language you used would make most creators far less likely to update their levels or try to improve their gameplay in the future" i was speaking more generally. and to respond to the middle 3 paragraphs you've written, i'll restate my point of view again-it's fine to be upset by levels with sub par gameplay getting rated, but when you go around saying stuff like "absolutely horrible (unnerfed) level" you just are going to look like a jerk, and also make most creators not want to update your level. Trust me as a creator that you are going about giving this type of feedback in the worst way possible. It ended up being fine in this situation, but for most creators it wouldn't end up with the level getting updated, so if you actually want creators to take what you're saying into consideration you should be nicer with your criticism. and finally-the coin twitter post. I actually audibly laughed reading your angry rant about it, thank you for that.

Instead of adding only the gay flag at bg i should recommend adding: straight,bi,gay,trans,non...ect

The pride flag is supposed to be all encompassing of those groups, other than cisgender/straight. And since there is no one speaking out against the rights of cisgender/straight people, voicing support for those groups doesn’t feel as necessary as voicing support for the lgbtq community.
