This was at least the sixth recipe I watched for Brunswick stew today, and by far it looked the best. Not only that, but you showed each step, and everything you put into it. I'm definitely going to use your recipe the next time I make it, and on the strength of this one video, have subscribed. Very much looking forward to watching you cook some more. I know your Grandma is looking down from heaven with a huge grin for all the love you shared. It's so great to see someone cook with that kind of love.

I’m from GA and out of all the videos I’ve watched yours looks the most like my grandfathers Brunswick stew. I haven’t had any since he passed away about 35 years ago. I watched him make it more times than I can count and this brings it all back and I’m definitely going to try to make it. I think he used homemade bbq sauce and he put the meat, corn and tomatoes through a food grinder…which I still have. This looks so good I can almost smell it. Thanks for this video.

I was bored so I decided to list the ingredients and steps for this, so here you go. Ingredients: 6 pound Boston Butt Roast 4 Skin-on, bone-in chicken breasts (Boneless is also fine if you're not making your own broth) 3 14oz cans of Diced Tomatoes 2 cans of Whole Corn Chopped Onions Chopped Garlic Worcestershire Sauce Louisiana Hot Sauce Ketchup Chicken Broth Tomato Bouillon Cubes 1. Cook 6 pound Boston Butt at 6 hours; 4 hours on high and 2 hours on low. Allow the pork to cool in the fridge overnight so it's easier to shred. 2. Boil 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts. Allow to cool in refrigerator for a few hours so it's easier to shred. 3. Shred your pork, and place it in the pot you plan to cook the stew in. 4. Remove the skin and bone from your chicken, shred the chicken, and place it in the pot with the pork. 5. Add 3 14 ounce cans of diced tomatoes; do not strain. 6. Strain and add 2 cans of whole corn; no corn juice! 7. Add somewhere between a 1/4 to 1/3 cup of Worcestershire Sauce 8. Add about half a cup of ketchup 9. Add about half a cup of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce 10. Add about 1/3 cup of Louisiana Hot Sauce 11. Add your chopped onion, garlic, Complete seasoning and Parsley. 12. Add about 1/3 cup of brown sugar 13. Add 7 cups of chicken broth 14. Add 2 Tomato Bouillon cubes Mix the contents, place the lid back on the pot. Simmer low. Taste your stew at 30 minutes; season to taste. Allow to simmer for another 45 minutes. Can't wait to try this, i'm about to go thaw the meat out now so I can get started tomorrow. I think I'm going to try this with a full diced onion though and throw some diced potato in there as well. Thanks for the recipe!

Great Job. That is as close to real brunswick stew that there is. All these people saying they "researched" what goes in, miss the mark. The only thing I do different, is I saute a few onions in butter or bacon grease first. Then, the rest is the same. It is so refreshing to know somebody else knows their stew. I made some last night for church supper tomorrow. Everyone tells me what I could add, but I just smile. Adding anything takes away from that true flavor. Blessed to have been raised in the south. We can't start changing our recipes. It's what makes our food special.

When my dad made it, he would use hog jowls, whole turkeys or a couple of big whole chickens. We would do it in the back yard in an old iron cauldron. After the meat boiled down, we would strain the pot and separate the bones out and put corn, and the other seasonings and ingredients in and slow boil it for a couple hours. There would always be a small amount of grease that would float on the top, which we usually skimmed off. We usually served it on a bed of white rice. YUM!

Yours is the only video I saw that actually showed the process from cooking the roast to the finished product. All the others just said use smoked pork… like, what regular person has access to a smoker on demand? Your process was easy to understand and actually achievable. I made this for today’s Sunday dinner and it was delicious. This is what Brunswick stew is supposed to taste like. 😊
