From Europe here:It's really cool to see you embrace the metric system, but also very funny to see you still be amazed by how easy it is. It's like someone who was bright up in a cult, but left and saw how beautiful world was.

Sedge!, watched this before and needed to make add oh to existing cabinets. Followed you classroom layout and built the exact same way. The 2,2,4,4 reveal was the best lesson yet. “Big D” the student for KZbin. Professor Sedge, the instructor. Thank you. This video is a year and a half old and is as good today as when you up loaded. Sedge, so up until watching this video I have ALWAYS been a cope and stick with raised panel and faceframe kind of guy. However; I may have to change. I love the clean and simple lines, no face frame material to mill up, good plywood constriction, and a system that always room for batch processing cabinets for a small shop. looking forward to more videos..YO BIG D

Newbie question, is the 50mm stock something commonly available to purchase pre-milled? What species are you using btw? Also, how feasible to do the groove with the OF1400 and edge guide? That is currenty the only router I have.
@sedgetool
@sedgetool 3 жыл бұрын
50mm stock is roughly 2" stock... I mill it myself.... The species we were using for the door is maple... and it is feasible to use the OF1400 and a parallel edge guide..... there is a scribed centerline on the base of the OF1400 as well

Sedge, what wood did you use for the door rails and stiles? Was the plywood veneered?
@sedgetool
@sedgetool 3 жыл бұрын
depending if it was stain grade or paint grade ... we used maple for paint grade in this videos... and yes the ply wood was maple shop grade plywood veneer

When routing the groove in the stiles, shouldn’t you stop before getting to the ends to prevent it from showing when assembled!

I do when I use a router table...this is a quick way on a jobsite to make doors...you can run long lengths and measure and cut..... the infill also adds a little detail.... just one way of doing it !!!!

When you store your lumber by wrapping it do you store it vertical or horizontal? If horizontal do you sticker the individual bundles? Any other thoughts would be awesome. As many have said these videos along with Festool Live have taught me more than I could ever imagine. Ironically in this internet world I have so much trouble finding solid information on woodworking. Between the many books I have purchased that only really teach you how to build a Home Depot quality cabinet and all the videos that are made for entertainment quality information is very diffuclt to come across. You, Mike Farrington, Rob Cosman and a few others are in a league of your own and I can't thank you enough.

Hi Sedge, Loving your videos, I am learning so much from your videos here and on Festool Live. Would you recommend building cabinets in ply only or MDF is ok? As Plywood in Australia is insanely expensive compared to MDF Cheers Brad @zacant_australia
