Awesome Chally man! & The tire letters look great - I like that you got them in yellow to pick up the yellow of the Scat Pack Bee. I'm with ya on the "old school lettered tire look". I have a set of Atturo AZ850 275/40/20s on my '14 Challenger R/T Classic (TorRed w/ white R/T side stripes), & I decided to paint my tire letters/numbers white. I went the totally traditional route with mine, but I like the custom lettering on yours too. I agree though, tires just look naked without something on the sidewall. Nice job, beautiful car. Thanks, the tire lettering did last the life of my tires. Onto a second set of tires and lettering!

Nicely done, one of the best application on KZbin my friend. Looks like you got the correct letter size as well. I think that makes a big difference. It's time for new tires for my truck (Dodge Ram 1500) with 20'' rims. Looking forward to it.

Got my tires yesterday and now i need your help. My truck is red and my last tires had white letter outlined. (Good Year-SAR) 20". I was thinking about yellow, white or red. Your opinion please.

I did mine with sand paper, I didn't completely get rid of the ridges though, I got those two lines pretty good, was really generalist with the acetone and mine held up nicely. The key is the acetone and applying pressure to the letters after application, that's a damn good job without a doubt.
@richcash43898 жыл бұрын
DW'S GARAGE yeah, that grinder idea was pretty damn clever, definitely took it to the next level. I just did my tires the other day and they took pretty well, I was impressed as too, I think on the next set of tires I'll use the grinder

DW'S GARAGE will do, definitely looking forward to seeing what you have next. I did a body color front spoiler mod, turned out better than I thought it would.

Excellent instructional video. Very informative. The only thing that would drive me nuts is the lettering alignment in correlation to the wheel. I would have to justify the words dead center to the wheels all the way around. For example the word shaker would be lined up dead on at the 12 o'clock position of one of the split spokes and the other words exactly opposite. Is there any reason why you aligned the letters this way, does it have something to do with how the oem lettering and texture on the tire is laid out or how you had to grind it off?
@DWSGARAGE6 жыл бұрын
Rick Theory Yes i placed the lettering where it would be most covenant for looks and removal of texture on tire.
@RickTheory6 жыл бұрын
I thought it might have something to do with the grinding. There's not much you can do about how the tires are mounted and balanced on the wheels exactly so each tire is going to line up differently. Even if you applied the lettering as I suggested each tire would still look different because of the oem font and texture. Anyway thanks for explaining and thanks again for the informative video. If i choose this mod in the future I will be better equipped to complete it.

Incase anyone is interested, the temporary stickers from tirestickers.com are WAY more durable than you may realize. Mine lasted months and even then when I decided to get rid of them so I could put on some new ones it took a serious amount of elbow grease, steel wool and eventually a little sanding to get them off entirely....so, their site says they are good for a day at the track or a car show...I am telling you now, you get much more mileage out of them than you can imagine.

they look awesome but ils pointless To pay that kinda money for tire letters when u are just gonna have To buy new tires . u cant take these off can u
@DWSGARAGE7 жыл бұрын
Guildenstein Foutch I have not tried to take them off. But i believe the manufacturers did say you could take them off. I personally believe it can be done without to much fuss. Customization is worth what someone is willing to pay. For what i did with the lettering it was worth it to me.

DW'S GARAGE o yea for sure looks awesome I wanna do it to my car but I'd hate to pay 100 something dollars for letters then lose them when I changed tires. But yea I love the old racecar look

Dude, seriously.......... the slowest video Iv ever watched. You were suppose to space out them words Scat and pack, lol.
@DWSGARAGE7 жыл бұрын
Yes they are two words, but frankly I don't care. Oh and if you look at the mopar scatpack emblem that goes in the grill. There is no space between those words either and I have that emblem in my possession. So I guess dodge doesn't care neither.

So you grind on your $250 each Goodyear F1s to install a $5 sticker on tire? Uh .... no thanks.
@DWSGARAGE7 жыл бұрын
Pat, the only thing your doing is getting rid of the raised letter and design on your tires. your not grinding your actual sidewall down. The lettering is not a sticker but, actual rubber. To have the ability to fully customize yet another part of your car is worth something. The response gained by this simple mod is huge. But, hey if you want to stay unnoticed stick with your black walls.
