bretelle Im responding to your very old comment and you probably already know by now about his daughter owning it now. But I will respond anyway. :) George's energy is still alive strong there! I discovered this bookstore just this month on my trip to Paris. I am a writer and I do love bookstores, but I hadn't done too much research before hand on this store. I had heard of it prior to my trip, and planned to see it, but knew only very little of the history. But George's spirit was definitely there, and it's exactly what led me further into researching and learning more in depth about the place and its history. I feel like I met George, though unfortunately I never had the privilege to meet him in his human incarnation. But I feel like I had such an intense, magical, experience there, and it's taken me on an exciting uncovering.

This bookstore is a treasure and certainly a cherished soul memory for me... first visit to Paris❤many years ago. Subscribed to website ... long lines or queues to get in... and a Cafe adjacent to store. I love that building was a monastery centuries ago and it's connection with Notre Dame.
