Hi Mate, I did the Damiltec air rams on my Team box, but, found the catches were a bit worn, box kept coming open!!!! found some overcenter catches on ebay, £5 for ten (got 3 boxes) fitted into the front slots for the tray, needed a thin 1/8th shim to pack them out slightly, works great, box clips on the beach, secure clips for transport, jobs a gudun. Rillington Mark, sounds like a spot on solution. The only thing I found was that the air rams put the box slightly off centre, but I adjusted that with a bit of brute force. Glad you got it sorted and for not much cash.....always a winner. Thanks for watching, Tite Lines G😁👍🎣

Hi ...could u just put a bungey somehow attached to the lid and loop around the backrest for the wind issue or similar. Somebody said that if you use the baitrays attached outside, the struts wont fit??? I.m coarse fishing.

Hi mate, thanks for your comment. Yeah, I guess you could use a bungey or similar, but I have always fancied doing this modification and I'm really glad I did, its ace. I can assure you that there is no issue with fitting the side trays. I always attach mine on the beach, usually for my pasty! Cheers and Tite Lines G

I fitted same dampers and put mine same way up as you have but you have fitted the dampers the wrong way up

Morning mate, if you have used the original Dameltech struts and use their pattern as supplied with the kit they can only go on one way. I made this video last May and have regularly used the box since then with no snags what so ever. Also I have seen numerous other anglers with them fitted while I've been out and about and they are exactly the same. All the very best and Tite Lines G

To all those who have used You Tube, to show there installation of the Damiltech lid lifters there is a fundamental error. The lifters have been placed upside down. It tells you this in the info you get when you buy them. I too made this error til yesterday when I had a new set arrive for my SB2 shakespeare seat box

Hi Darren, and thanks for your comments. However it is not possible to mount these upside down. If you notice I use the template provided with the lifters. For the original style Shakespear box which this is, this is the only way they will mount. Again the template also gives the position for the drill holes and this clearly gives the markings for three screws not two. As you will know if you have just got a set, only one end of the strut has the three holes on the mount. For the record this is not an instructional video and I would always advise people to read the instructions before doing modifications to their own equipment. Cheers G

Sorry if I sounded like I was an expert. You are correct about the fittings. What I mean is the actual rams are the wrong way up. The tube should be at the top and the arm at the bottom.I enjoy your video so keep up the good work Regards Darren
