Are they quiet? I've just ordered the FBQ1502HD. I know most people say software effects are better than cheap hardware, but I don't really agree. It depends what your expectations are and what the use is.

Thanks for the review. Do you find a lot of difference in terms of background noise between the 2 units? I'm asking this because I would like to buy the Mini FBQ but I'm afraid about the un-balanced connection that the Mini FBQ have .. The FBQ1502HD It's too much for what I needs in my setup, but if the compromise is the quality sound I think I'll go with the FBQ1502HD. Thanks in advance for your attention.

There is such a thing as editing and with the number of gaffes you made in this overview you should availed of that. Had you done so I imagine that you would, by now, have a large subscriber base because people like enthusiasm. I am pressing subscribe anyway because you deserve encouragement and did an okay job in demonstrating EQ within the compressed confines of YTube. Having been the eternal amateur bloke who records music as a useful contrast to a high pressure medical/cognition career, I learned a lot when recording in odd acoustics. I am long retired now but still record when I am able in old age. Therefore excuse the 'grumpy old man' beginning. A really good use of something like the FBQ 1502 is using finely graded adjustments to take out echo pockets and bass traps at a venue. I usually record classical stuff in churches and arts centres but a good heavy rock band is good heavy rock and music is music. Genre doesn't matter when capturing music well played so bring it on. The 1502 (more or less cloned from an obsolete Mackie) benefits from being split into 2 parts. If cannot move the performers physically and unwanted acoustic snares are known, one can "move" the sound stage on the device. In the old days we overcame such problems using boundary mics and directional ones BUT at a gig it is usually not possible to do clever-clever mic placing, audiences are noisy and one is recording an event as much as what the performers are doing so it is a compromise. In semi-studio conditions (an empty hall will do) it is easier to place mics and in choral and chamber music gigs it is relatively simple. Heavily amped music is different and sounds do not all decay at the same point -- especially if some objects in the room are resonant. A trick I leaned from well known heavies (some still alive) was to take feeds from their PM gear and use filters as necessary. This helped imaging and taking out annoying clutter in the finished mix. Musicians use 'sound reinforcement' PMs slanting from front stage to retain orientation so why not tap in if they will let you? I have always found Behringer to be mainly well thought out and even some plastic things are tough but not always. They are good while they last and can usually be mended. Chinese manufacture is not always good but obvious problems show up within warranty time. All best wishes.

Long time ago, but what does the 'low cut' button do? Is that the low pass sub crossover? And how does the sub out work? Is that controlled by the volume knobs for the 2 main channels as well?

What speakers are you using? The speakers too make a big difference in final sound quality specially for a Bass or woofer effect.

Hi, if you press the bypass button on fbq15, bypass is for level input too? I have DBX equalizer, if i press bypass button, it bypass the equalizer bands but not the volume input knob.

@@shaktastik I'm probably gonna get the ultragraph pro, but I'm gonna use it for my living room setup🤣. I have a dac going straight into a power Amp via xlr now. I wanna be able to keep the balanced connection while adding eq, because I need to tweak the highs a bit in my living room. It also has a sub out, which is great because I can add my sub into the setup properly this way.

I bought the beringer graphic equilizer but my problem is that I'm using my kam turntable hooked up to a kenwood amp so I've wired red and white to the output sockets on the graphic and then on the input socket on on my amp but I'm getting no flashing led lights on the graphic what have I done wrong I'm sure I've done it right

@@djpaul146 try and connect it to a computer sound card just to see if it works ok, if it doesn't then you may have a faulty one. If it works fine then you know its the turntable that is the issue.

I'd say shaks is right with the preamp, your amplifier will have a preamp built in if you select phono, so the output will be to low for the eq. Normally kam or equivalent turntables will be plugged into a mixer first

Hmm. So I've read that the 1/4" ins and outs on this unit are balanced but the AUX sends and returns on my mixer are not. Will the unit accept TS cables or will this only play nice with a TRS environment?

I think I answered my own question after watching the remainder of your video. I see your 1/4" plugs are just 2 conductor tip and ring. Looks like I should be good to go to do the same.

I can confirm it works with both balanced and unbalanced inputs/outputs. I have this connected to an unbalanced DAC, and no issues. Clean sound.

@@shaktastik I've got analog stuff and plugins stuff. Real Guitar tube amp, pedals.. But i also use plugins amp simulation, and i mix them! Just to find my sound. I'm wondering where work best this ultragraphic. I only use headphones so I don't know who to use the sub output of the ultragraphic. I also got a Behringer xenyx 802 mixer. How is the best use for incorporate this in my rig? Really complicated answer I know.. thanks anyway!!
