In my opinion....XB13 has broadness in sound lacking in the XB12....USB-C is sweet for connecting power.

This was fairly loud but stopped pairing to my phone, had to take it back. I wish it would have stayed paired to my moto g 7 power. Hopefully the tall one comes back to target soon in the store and on sale

XB13 seems to have a more ''V"-shaped sound, with slightly boosted treble, and bass, while the XB12 still has a more neutral tuning which I mostly prefer.

Xb13 has more bass , but that may not be a smart move because you cant turn down the bass on this speaker . I think thats why a lot of people liked xb12 more . Because if there is more bass then what the speaker can handle it will distort

Still prefer the xb12..its a much more natural sounding and the lower bass can be metigated with eq..but the xb13 is being configured as a bose speaker and honestly i kind hate that..because it will sounds very good with sound genre but not with another.. It limits the potential range of the heard sound it produce. If i want to tune its crossover frequency on a software level..it will work very well with the xb 12...not so much with the xb13.

Nice video comparison! Please can you clarify the missing AUX connection ? If you used a USB C to 3.5mm headphone adapter, would audio come through the speaker ? I would like to connect hardware via 3.5mm. The Sony spec states both USB input AND output via USB C. Is it possible with this speaker or is it only achievable with the XB12 ? Many thanks

Hi I have plugged a USB C to jack adapter and connected it to my mp3 player but no sound comes out from the speaker, there is also no input selection to change from Bluetooth to Aux in, so im afraid the XB13 doesnt have a input port so only the XB12 does.

Yeah, it won't work if you use an adapter since the USB-C port on the XB - 13 is used only for DC input, for charging.

No. XB12 has a Button to hold, XB13 doesn‘t. But the XB12 after holding the button is not connecting with the XB13. But I can connect both to my phone, but its only using one speaker.

That I was going say, if you hold the bluetooth button on the xb13 its going to pair with an other speaker. So i got the xb12 back, went into pair another speaker, doing this to the xb13 too ... so both are in the pairing for another speaker mode, but dont hook up to each other... maybe there is an other way or app for it?

So, i tried it a cpl times as the manual says and it still doesnt work... both do the same, and also both having a blinking bluetooth led, when the white pairing led stops blinking and stays on... one of the bluetooth leds of one speaker should go off means they are paired to each other, but that not happen.... so you need two xb12 or xb13

I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.
