The sad thing is that Ei's idea to set him free wasn't exactly a bad idea. After she left him in that domain, he was found by people who genuinely cared about him, regardless of his nature as a puppet. They saw him as a human and an equal. He had a nice life there! This was what Ei had intended! It only went downhill after Dottore came along! Otherwise, even though Niwa and Katsuragi would've eventually died anyways, the Kabukimono would've remembered them fondly and he could've had much more time with them to learn about his own humanity and how to correctly deal with loss! He could've even been the Traveler's ally in the inazuma archon quest! Maybe he could've even made up with Ei and even learn to forgive or at least understand her!

@@Aruna_Shadows Yes, you are right. As I said before, Ei was not a "mother," but she was still compassionate enough to let him go and hoped he'd be happy. Things turning the way they did were not her fault. If she is at fault for anything, it is not capable of being a mother for him. And can we really blame her for that? It is a foreign concept for her. Still, she should've at least been more in his life, but she couldn,t because Ei was dealing with her own issues at the time: Makoto's death. It's a complicated situation with no real culprits, Dottore aside of course.

@tsuki727 He put emphasis on the fact Kazuha had an Anemo vision, and he himself has one as well. It's not really about being a Kaedehara, tbh. More likely that the Anemo vision is in a way a personification of "back talking" to the almighty Electro Archon. He never really got the chance to do it himself (rather, never took the chance to do it, but someone else did and it is already satisfying enough for him).

0:04 you know what’s funny? After the interlude Archeon quest technically speaking in the new altered timeline. Ei never knew the balladeer/wanderer as he never existed at least in her memories. Presumably she either got the Raiden shogun right on the first go or there were other dolls she simply discarded As he erased his presence in the collective memory (besides the descenders like Traveler or Nahida who backed up her memory)

Heck it’s possible with the rewrite her knowledge actually increased to compensate being the “only” Dendro archon instead of the “replacement”. Either way it showed just how clever Nahida is in the wanderer interlude quest.

I don’t really blame or feel any hatred towards either Ei, Wanderer or Yae. I honestly just feel bad for them, especially for Wanderer and Ei. I understand how each one of them ended up doing what they’ve done. It does actually make sense due to the circumstances each of them were facing during those times😢 Still, I hope Hoyo would tell us their full history someday.

Don't hold your breath to it. They had one shot by making a interlude that connects to Sumeru. But they copped out and left that plot thread abandoned after Scara removed himself. Anything else afterward would not hit as much. Which sucks because Ei, Yae and Scara deserve to face each other and make everything they have done be laid bare.

she doesn't have a voiceline about him at all, because traveler met her after the events in sumeru, and all future characters wont have voucelines about him as scaramouche, except for dottore maybe because one of the writers said that dottore and scaramouche will meet in the future updates, and also the scene from winter night's lazzo where dottore burns the irminsul tree down will be there too, i guess that's connected with the secret he told nahida to obtain the gnosis

I see many people blaming Ei for ruining Wanderer's life. I won't excuse Ei for abandoning Wanderer (personally the jerk deserved it), but it was the best decision she could have made during that time. And even before Dottore messed up his life, Wanderer was doing well in the outside world.

Personally, even though I love Wanderer, I have to admit that all the betrayals he suffered, well in reality were never really acts of wickedness against him, they were almost acts of kindness. From Ei's point of view, she never sought to abandon Wanderer, she didn't see him as a simple emotionless puppet/tool ​​and that's why she prevented Yae from getting rid of him. @Blue-Code "personally the jerk deserved it" This is a nonsensical take. Scara became a terrible person, but at the time he was created and discarded by Ei, he had done nothing wrong yet. Had never hurt a fly nor caused any suffering for anybody. He didn't deserve to get abandoned. The truth is that he didn't deserve the bad things that happened to him (that caused him to become the little shit he became). But he also reacted way too poorly to everything, in particular to the last so called "betrayal" about the sick boy that died. Him blaming the boy was really ridiculous, and the way they tried to force his redemption arc in Sumeru was also pretty bad.

So it was a real dick move of her to unilaterally decide to set him free but completely alone without checking how he felt first. She didn't even have a conversation with him about it. Yeah, she was going into isolation, but she could at least have explained that she'd not be able to care for him the way he'd like and offered him options and allowed him to choose from those. Seriously, the whole mess that their relationship became and his eventual downfall into a terrible person was one good heart to heart away from a stable, if distant, relationship and also a stable and potentially good person.

@@123leyang321pls stop it with the “she should be” and “she should have”s… regarding Ei. Not everyone/everything acts/goes according to our IDEAL. There’s just what we call “expectation vs reality”. Everyone has different personalities, opinions/thoughts, upbringing, backgrounds, experiences, etc. so we can’t always expect everyone to have the same understanding or way of doing things like us. Also, Ei may be a fictional character, but she’s also one of the most realistic (human) character in-game coz of her very flawed character.

@@123leyang321 At first, Ei didn't expect to have to deal with this kind of situation. After Makoto died, she was mostly focused on creating a new body and the stakes of her nation. I think she treated him like an adult when he was like a newborn baby, completely disoriented. She assumed he would want freedom and never thought he would need explanations or anything else. Much like with her people : she thinks she's doing good when in reality, she's doing more harm than good, and she's going about it the wrong way. She could have made better choices for the Wanderer's well-being, I'm not saying she didn't, but all her actions were more driven by ignorance than anything else. I think if she had known how much she had hurt him, she would have tried to be clearer about her intentions towards him. But let's be honest, I doubt she would have offered to raise him in any case, so the choices were also very limited.
