विनेश फोगाट को फाइनल से पहले अधिक वजन होने के कारण महिला कुश्ती 50 किग्रा से अयोग्य घोषित कर दिया गया। वह फाइनल में हिस्सा नहीं ले पाएंगी और ना ही उनको कोई मेडल मिलेगा। इस बार इस भार वर्ग में सिर्फ गोल्ड मेडल यूएएस की रेस्लर को मिलेगा और कांस्य पदक मैच आयोजित होगा। इस बात की पुष्टि खुद इंडियन ओलंपिक एसोसिएशन ने की है। आईओए ने बताया है कि आज सुबह उनका वजन 50 किलोग्राम से कुछ ग्राम अधिक था, मामले पर कांग्रेस सांसद शक्तिसिंह गोहिल ने संसद में बयान दिया है।
