Everyone has to make their own decision for their careers, and its best to have a great mentor. That being said if you look at the careers side by side. Tank who listened to a mentor, didn't matter if he was the smallest on the flyer, he knew the endgame. Fast forward to now, Tank is a PPV and household name making double of what Stevenson makes. I know money isn't everything but connections matter. Lastly his promoter is Top Rank and Rob Arum. You see whats happening to Bud Crawford which could potentially happen to him. Tank needs to be more like Shakur. Tank is one of the most rich and popular, but one of the most Least proven boxers. Tank is almost 30 and still hasn’t fought a top 135 pounder. Naw Floyd knows boxing, and he knows Tank isn't disciplined like some of the other fighters. Floyd knows Tank is inconsistent, and alot of these young guys don't want to listen. Shakur just said he basically doesn't want to listen, but yet wants to be Floyd and probably have that type of money. Tank doesn't want to listen or be led, and his work ethic is average for a world class fighter. That's why Floyd is matching him carefully. The moment Tank loses his stock drops significantly, and Floyd knows it. If Haney would've signed with Floyd, Floyd would've loved him. He's focused and dedicated. I think alot of these young dudes want that money backing they think Floyd lacks, and they may be right. But think about all the fights and money Floyd got J'Leon Love who was average, and how well Floyd propelled Badou Jack. Those guys wouldn't make even a million under a different company. Al Haymon and Floyd know what they're doing, but black folks don't like being told what to do by other black folks sometimes. That's why they sign with other companies that will shelve them. Tank is a star because of Floyd, and if he got super focused Floyd would step him up. I've seen Tank train and it was extremely disappointing for the level of fighter he is.
