Black & White is a superb album and yet overlooked in a lot of ways. For a third album when probably everyone thought they'd be shot it was an incredible piece of work. And they came up with 4 classic albums in two years. No messing about in those days.

Unfortunately they did...... That gawdawful La Folie shite, Hated that Meninblack 'effort' too.. Bear frigging cage although clever lyrics in that song, it was a shite song. Don't want to be thinking listening to that garbage. Believe me i am a thinker, a deep thinker, and i thought long and hard on those songs and albums when i was listening to them, lots of thought..... And i still think La Folie etc is complete fucking bollocks.

Fantastic! "A flock of seagulls, a flock of seagulls"!!! I am bias to anything of the Black and White album, in my opinion their best piece of studio work.

these guys were unique - so melodic and at the same time gritty - saw them 17 times, was @ battersea park (14 years old)... but i didn't like La Folie, and after Aural Sculpture i never bought another record of theirs. but this one's a classic.

interesting, so much slower than their original studio take. I'd prefer a bit of an upbeat tempo...

Think this is hard for them to do live. It should be a lot tighter. Sounds great on black and white.

Looks like during their Meninblack La Folie period in their journey..... They rarely played any old stuff then, and on a few they did they watered down.

If we are honest - and we are, aren't we - the STRANGLERS were actually a single-band. Their albums - with the exception of the first two and the LIVE-album (!!!) - were rather boring. Tons and tons of fillers. Only their singles - or most, not all, of them - were thrillers! GREAT LIVE BAND, THOUGH!
