Goodness, think they grow June bearing down south as annual. Maybe store in fridge after June. Nothing surprises me with strawberries.

Aren't you supposed to soak them in water overnight? Doubt if it would have made any difference with those though.

The bare roots look like that. I bought some from Home Depot and they were completely dead. I got a refund but I soaked them in water for a week or so. Some started growing leaves. I kept soaking the rest and in the end I tossed out maybe 4. So don’t give up on them.
