'Example is better than precept' I understand the word of God you are quoting... it's very easy to understand but difficult to apply it in real life situations.... How does persistence different from repetitive prayers?

When you persist, you continue over a period of time until the result manifest. While, repetation is to say one thing over & over again. So, the two are not the same. Glory to God!

I think it is in the attitude that determines either it is repetition or persistence. If you continue to ask for the same thing or praying for the same matter over and over with faith and conviction then you are in perseverance. But if your attitude is towards how many times did I say this prayer, then you are like a Pharisee. This was my concern for long time too. I hope it helps.

Repettitive prayer is what Jesus said we shouldn't do ("Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking." ). But PERSISTENCE in prayer is when you keep pressing in the spirit because you haven't yet received the answer. Receiving has to do with the heart and mind. Sometimes in prayer, you are convinced beyond any doubt that the answer has been granted you even though you don't see any physical evidence. Your evidence is received in the spirit (faith). Sometimes it may be a snog, or some form of joy expressed all of sudden. Other times also, t changes before your very eyes, or you discover situations have begun to turn to your favour. Persistence is complete when you RECEIVE the answer (in your spirit & you're fully persuaded by it). Don't stop until you know beyond all doubt that the prayer has been answered and there is no doubt or fear in your heart anymore! Hope this helps.
