GREAT conversation guys! PREACH!!! some content creators are using DVDs as a "look i'm still cool guys" but a week later go back & bash them. more than half my collection is still DVD & proudly on my shelf instead of hidden in a bin in the closet.

I don’t think it matters if a collector upgrades or not. It’s their collection, and then can build it in whatever way they want. As long as they’re happy with it, that’s all that matters.

Sometimes I buy the DVD cause it's cheaper and don't really need it on Blu Ray or 4K. If it's something I really want then I will buy the collector,box sex, special edition etc.

Collect what you want. I love to see other peoples tastses when it comes to their collections. I prefer the highest quality but if its only available on VHS or DVD then i'll settle for that.

17:00 and when the directors like james cameron finally released the movies on 4K, they still trash the 4K. seriously some people do not watch the movies for the movies, they scrutinize each frame and analyze each color, saturation, contrast, etc. for me, i want to watch the movies as a whole, not per frame 😅 i find that if i care too much on the technical stuff, i cannot really enjoy the movie

That is so true it can take the fun out of the viewing. I wasn't happy with True Lies, but it didn't drive me crazy. HEAT transfer was dark also, but I was just happy to have it on 4K.

This was a great conversation. Again, collect how you want and appreciate the different styles of collecting. It should the range of what is or has been available. I think there has been bashing on both sides. People that don’t collect 4K bash people that want only 4K and vice versa. Let’s just support and celebrate each other. 🥂 to physical media and it continuing to be available; it could be worse 🤷🏽‍♂️. DVD buyers keep physical media alive. It’s the highest media sold. Then people shame dvd buyers saying just upgrade to Blu-ray. The average movie buyer is going to buy dvd cuz they just want the movie.

It is also much cheaper and some films are only available on DVD. If the price difference is small and the movie is available on Blu ray, I'll go for it. But otherwise DVD is fine. In some cases, the picture quality on Blu ray and DVD is not even that big. Especially not if you have a player with upscaling. And image quality isn't everything. Some films, such as Planet Terror, are even deliberately made to have poor image quality and that is part of the film's charm. Other good films that can be mentioned with deliberately bad picture quality are - Natural Born Killers and death proof. About 4k, I haven't seen anything that impressed me so much that it's worth paying 3-4 times as much for it. The price for 4k is crazy.

Its only shaming if you accept the shame. I collect DVDs, Blu, and 4K. I'm not going to buy common titles. Dont care who likes it or not. As long as I like it, thats ALL that matters.

I still buy DVDs Most of the movies I love are locked behind DVD. This video was well said by all you gentlemen 🫡 buy what you want and love most people just buy these movies to look cool 😂...
