I read this wise man's thoughts/rules many, many times, and always wonder what a wonderful world it would be if we all live our lives according to these rules!

Impossible this physical world is negative for a reason , it's designed for learning , testing , to strengthen our spirit . The upper WORLD'S are for those who achieve an deserve to live with strong minded spirits who live in more virtuous an loving environment . GOD must be all things , even negative or evil , so GOD being very clever he gave negative or evil the lowest of all the realms being lower in vibrations an destructive in action , karmic wise.

I can read this over and over again and feel each time I am learning something new as I develop. Each passage has a different way of connecting to me at the different stages of my life and it strikes a chord to the very organ I am learning so much about. This particular video, with the beautiful music is perfect.

"This world is like a snowy mountain that echoes your voice. Whatever you speak - good or evil - will come back to you... The past is an interpretation. The future is an illusion. The world does not move through time as if it were a straight line, proceeding from the past to the future. Instead time moves through and within us, in endless spirals. Eternity does not mean infinite time, but simply timelesness."

Got this today and in the now expanding history. It’s one of two of Rumi received today. I do like Rumi quite a bit. The words are beautiful the timing I don’t think fits. My heart says I need to provide for my family, food in a difficult period of time, in the present and near future. The reality of Hunger, isn’t joy nor happiness. So I have to understand with my head economic hazards while I follow my heart. So that I not see my family hunger, as well as any friends that I have. If I pass a word to internet friends the an ideal of preparing emergency provisions, considering the above, is it not a form of love? No it’s not happy words, it’s not humor, can’t find joy in the communications. But I’d still take my important time to write it again and again to different people that I care about in my internet family, just because hunger isn’t what I want to hear from people that I care about. While I eat, definitely not...joy. Be the ants and not the grasshopper.

Shall I Tell You Our Secret Shall I tell you our secret? We are charming thieves who steal hearts and never fail because we are the friends of the One. The time for old preaching is over we aim straight at the heart. If the mind tries to sneak in and take over we will string it up without delay. We turn poison into medicine and our sorrows into blessings. All that was familiar, our loved ones and ourselves, we had to leave behind. Blessed is the poem that comes through me but not of me because the sound of my own music will drown the song of Love. From Rumi: Hidden Music

A note from the publisher of the novel “The Forty Rules of Love.” (See the copyright page.) “This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places, and incidents either are the product of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously, and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, business establishments, events, or locales is entirely coincidental.” For people who like rules, these are nice ones. But the author of them is Elif Shafak, not Shams.

Yes chang the sufis were inspired by the budhist mysticism as well
@hassaans67784 жыл бұрын
Incorrect. The Sufis have nothing to do with Buddhism or Buddhists. The Sufi is devoted to the teachings of the holy Prophet Muhammad e Mustafa (SAAW) alone who is the light of Allah. The Sufi learns from a line of teachers (silsila) that goes directly to the holy Prophet Muhammad e Mustafa (SAAW). What Shams Tabrizi (Rah) is writing is solely from the holy Prophet Muhammad e Mustafa (SAAW) who learned from Allah. This is all about Allah. In Buddhism there is no concept of God. Buddhism says that is not important. But to the Sufi like Shams that is all that there is. As the holy Prophet Muhammad e Mustafa (SAAW) taught, there is none except Allah.

Rebirth and life after death are prime concepts in Hinduism. But Hinduism tells us that the final destination/aim of every being is to free themselves from this cycle of birth and death and achieve oneness which is called moksha(liberation) in Hinduism or nirvana in Buddhism in Sanskrit language. It is the ultimate truth whether you accept or not. There is only one. Entire universe is that one only. Eko hin Brahma dwitiya na Asti (there is only parmatma there is no two). Both Hinduism and Buddhism are Sanatan Dharma faiths and if you go further deep in meditation you will realise that both oneness and nothingness are same concept. If you don't like nothingness then believe in oneness as both path will lead you to same destination, there is no difference. Divisions will lead to further divisions that's why believe in oneness of all and Dharma which is ultimate truth. This is our final destination moksha which means liberation from cycle of birth and death and free ourselves from all sorrow
@pratyushambastha48192 жыл бұрын
Persian Sufis were very close to ancient Hindu knowledge of yoga and meditation. That's why you will find many similarities between them.
@freethinker9996 жыл бұрын
Does anybody know who the translator is and the name of the book?
Somehow I hv different views abt few points (till I watched this vedio). 1. Intellect and love are NOT made of different materials. Intellect develops due to love for self , love for learning different tools to survive better way. Love for forming and remaining with similar ppl.2. Path to truth is Not labour of love alone . Intelligence of self or similar group of ppl help to see truth .3. Of Quran has 4 levels of insights, it indicates wisdom to deal with different ppl , or parental care for different kinds of his creation . Can be called love but ... no intelligence ??? It's not possible (if love is considered limited to a quality of a poet who admires beauty ). U yourself say that how we see God is how we see ourselves . True, when we are not happy we start a journey to find god , a higherself /supreme . In the process we become wiser according to our capability . But , a single person can not look after whole creation as God does . So, I m not able to connect solitude n seeing god within and comparing with supreme god .
