Ahhh I loved this show! Shamu. Rocks. America! :D Looks like they cut Tili's part out that day for whatever reason. Darn! Also one of the best shows SeaWorld has ever done. Thank you so much for uploading this as well!

poor shamu, killer whales don't do half of those tricks in the wild

Just a stark reminder of how long this abuse has been going on. I can’t understand why people go to Seaworld again and again. The whales have been forced to do the same tricks just the music and the dancing jailers change.

The whales aren't forced to do anything. You cannot force an animal as large as a killer whale to do what you want them to do. If they don't want to do something, they aren't made to do it. Plus, the order of the behaviors they do, how they do it, and when are constantly changing in order to provide mental stimulation. These "tricks" are their exercise, as well. Also, "dancing jailers?" Really? These "dancing jailers" are people that have given up time with their families, holidays and weekends off, and even sleeping in order to give these animals the best care they can possibly receive. They may seem like "dancing jailers" to you, but to me, and to anyone who's even looked beyond Blackfish and whatever other lie the media has been feeding people, these are trainers who have worked incredibly hard to get where they are, and they sacrifice a lot in order to care for these animals. I've been going to SeaWorld for nearly 12 years, and trust me, the trainers have nothing but love and care for the whales. They are professionals, and look who's commenting that they're "dancing jailers." Someone who isn't a professional and someone who knows nothing about these animals or the people that work with them. People who go to SeaWorld "again and again" are people who have realized that PeTA and Blackfish are filled to the brim with lies. I can agree that there are things that can be improved on regarding the size of the whales' tank. That is definitely a problem, but it's because of people like you that those plans were thrown away. There were supposed to be improvements, but people were just pushing and pushing and ruined it. I suggest looking at the book "I Still Believe" by Hazel McBride. Hazel is an orca trainer in France, and the book is told from a trainer's perspective. She touches on things like the "tricks" (as you so call them) that the whales do, how much food they get and when they get it, positive reinforcement, enrichment, and other things that the media has lied about.

I have firsthand experience of what happens when the orcas choose not to perform. They pause the show, waiting for the orca(s) to show signs of attention and signs of being alert before beginning where they left off. In the meantime, they usually list facts about the orcas, how they reinforce them, how they teach behaviours, and other similar things. If too much time is taken while waiting the trainers will send them back to another pool and bring out another orca to provide them with the enrichment and provide the education, connections, and excitement to the audience.
