When you see Orcas in the wild you know that's where they're supposed to be. Many SeaWorld trainers have never seen Orcas in the wild. Displays and shows such as the one shown in the video are more a part of the past than they are part of the future.

Um, isn't it evident from the way they behave that they don't belong in tanks?! They're always injuring each other and there have been countless incidents of aggression against trainers. And then there's Tilikum. Surely what he did must tell you something.

Yes, great documentary, very poignant. So many sad stories about captive orcas that people don't know about... I don't deny that orcas are treated well by the trainers at SeaWorld now but all the trainer's care and love will never make up for a life free in the wild with their family.

Tilly is not a part of the SeaWorld 'pod' of orcas. Katina and Kayla rake him very often, they are very dominant and he is not.They can't be called a pod, there's only Katina as the dominant, Kayla her friend, all the others are babies, of course they won't reject them and then Tilly is not accepted. In a real wild pod, a male like Tilly would never leave his mother, he's not in his pod at all. And an orca like Nalani would never have a brother who is also her father. So many wrong things...

This is so disgraceful, to say the least. Edgar Winter himself was totally against this, when he found out they were using his song "Free Ride" when they are not free. Poor whales. Yeah, you idiots say they are treated like royalty? You live in captivity where you can't come and go as you wish, wherever you wish, and see how you feel. This is the letter Edgar Winter wrote to SeaWorld when he discovered this....... To Jim Atchison and SeaWorld, It has just been brought to my attention (from many concerned fans writing into our web site) that one of my songs "Free Ride" is being used without my knowledge or consent in a video called "Shamu Rocks.” My wife Monique and I share a deep love and respect for all animals, and are active in rescue and care issues. The idea of these beautiful, and intelligent mammals being confined to a small tank, held in captivity, and subjected to whatever measures necessary to force them to perform these "so called" tricks fills our hearts with anguish, shame, and sorrow. The idea behind the song "Free Ride" is freedom, which is exactly that of which these noble and sensitive creatures are being deprived. I respectfully ask that you immediately stop using "Free Ride" in this video or any similar connection, as it subverts the meaning and intention of the song, and makes it appear that I personally approve and condone such activity.
