I saw them in Pioneertown, an old western movie set left in the California desert - Best show I've ever been to hands down.

@@kawabungadad8945 Well, none of them girlz is really a master of their instrument but as a band they sound pretty tight. Congratz btw for your nom de plume. ;) Very funny.

@@orcaflotta7867 I couldn't disagree more. I think they're all masters in their own right, they made 3 albums and an EP that were all solid. Shana Cleveland is a phenomenal vocalist and guitarist. She might not play the most technically difficult stuff all of the time, but she's always super tasteful and imo that's more important - She's also got what I'd call an 'iconic voice' and can shred when she wants to (Dick Dale was a fan and that's certainly saying something!). Marian Li Pino is one of the best drummers out there right now. There, I said it. She's got a very unique /creative style that blends elements of surf rock, jazz and afro-cuban music together - And she can really play! I think she'll go down in history as one of the best drummers of this generation with the likes of other modern day greats like Yussef Dayes, James Muschler, Luke Flowers, T. Daniel Howard, Louis Cole, Makaya McCraven, Femi Koleoso, Rob Turner etc. She's already been nominated for best new drummer by Modern Drummer's readers poll and Ty Segall has said that she's the best drummer he's ever recorded. Lena: If you're really 'noticing' the bass in a surf rock band, then their doing it all wrong. Lena does a perfect job of adding emphasis to the rest of the band and pulling transitions together. Great bassist. Alice: Comes up with some of the catchiest key riffs that really 'light' their songs up, she's really the key to the La Luz sound. Again, what she's playing isn't super difficult, but if you think a master is someone that plays at 120% all of the time, then go listen to technical death metal instead. This is all of course my subjective opinion, think whatever you want and listen to what makes you happy!

Vladimir Poutine I agree. I'm an old School metal guy and La Luz is far from my typical preference, but with the harmonies, and with each members unique method, it makes for such a great (and addictive) product. Not to mention, they are all gorgeous yet don't resort to showing their buttholes on stage for fanfare. They write great songs, unlike much of the genre, IMO.

@@kawabungadad8945 I didn't say they are not solid musicians. But there's a difference between solid and virtuosity. The Beatles were individually solid instrumentalists at best ... still a great and ultra tight band. And the La Luz girls are a far cry below the Beatles.

@@wavepirate it's a comment area, right?? Among all the great music I've discoverd on this great channel, this is the first time I'a bored... Sometimes I didn't like, but there, I was just bored.
