It is because everyone who has a brain knows whats going to happen. Ballard has no reason to spend 15m+ a year on a singular cb or S, with great players available and for rookie pay to develop with the guys we just extended for multiple years. Its not rocket science its statistically the best move.

I don't think that the secondary is depleted. Blackmon might be back, and we didn't lose anybody else of consequence. The safety (that the staff is currently raving about) that we drafted last season (Scott) missed the entire year. Flowers was slated to start and he missed the year, too. Both of those guys will be back. Brents will no longer be a rookie. The two young guys who were forced into playing time at corner last season will have some progression as well. Kenny is back. If we were to add a guy like Wiggins or Mitchell in the draft, all of a sudden the secondary is way better than last season's with just the additions of the draft pick, Flowers, Scott, and the progression of Brents, Baker, and Cross. Jmo, though.

Him, metellus, and flowers blew way too many coverages last year, but to say we dont need another veteran DB is an absolute joke.. No Gm goes into the draft relying on a rookie to fill a starting roster spot that season.
