He essentially did early on his life. His parents got divorced, and his dad left assuming his mom would take care of him. The mom left soon after the dad did though, so Dahmer was alone for months. His alcoholism got worse, and that was when he first killed a dude. His dad did come back a few months later though. Then kicked him out.
