I always hated Shane on the field, playing cricket. That is because I`m South African but, I loved him. I was completely fascinated by the way he spin bowled. Turning his hand up side down letting the ball leave from the bottom now the top and change direction faster than a zebra spotting a lion. He will for always be the best.

Shane said " Ok mate" and duly gave the autograph in which my brother has had framed an on his wall in the boarding house he lives in. He collects autographs. shanes' is his favorite. Thanks Warne

Interesting , if you were going to pick a team from all the ages , the first batsman would be the DON , the first bowler you'd pick be Warnie, both , Aussie Champions , but the best cricketers at their craft , then daylight .

My dad met Shane Warne in 1995 when I was 9 years old, I loved cricket and Warnie was a hero to me, my dad ended having a beer next to him, and Shane wrote a note wishing me the best in my cricket career and signed it. Something so small but it had such an impact, thank you for making me proud to be a bowler, thank you for making me proud to have played cricket, thank you for making me proud to be an Australian, thank you for giving me and my family some of the best memories from my childhood.

Broke my heart when the news came across that Warnie was gone. The very man who inspired me as a kid to get into playing cricket and spin bowling 30 odd years ago. My hero, my (for the most part) role model of the game. The man who did things with the ball that everyone knew was impossible. Didn't matter what the score was, even if Australia was getting flogged, Warnie was there, and everything was going to be alright. I was born far too late to ever see Sir Donald Bradman play, but I'll be telling my grandkids, many years from now about Shane Warne and how I was lucky enough to see him play, whether on tv or live at the ground. Warnie regularly did the impossible, and I was there to see it all. Sleep well, Warnie. You'll never, ever be forgotten.

Coming from SA...best player I've ever seen. Best there has ever been. He brought fear to the game. I hated him but I admired him. The Oz team would have been far less successful if he hadn't played. One man can make a difference. RIP Great One

As an England fan from the late 80's on, it's hard to describe Shane. A drill through your soul - you'd think things were ok, there was hope. Shane *always* disabused one of that idea. It genuinely took his retirement for me to love him, and really appreciate what he was. Loved him though, for real.

I think the most amazing thing about Shane Warne is that although he won so many Ashes for the Aussies he is loved here in England after all that. He's one of my favourite cricketers even though he is Australian, so sad that he went way too early.

Man im SA'n as well, just like you,I hated Warnie with a passion,I hated what he used to do Darryl, every ball from his hand was just magical, when he bowled to Darryl it was like the couch had no lumber support coz I was always on the edge of the seat and he would send one that would rip right through Darryl's and I'd cry tears thereafter coz I just knew that he was gonna get him. Warnie tormented the Proteas all the bloody time and I hated that yet in the same breath loved every minute of it.✌🏿🇿🇦
