Hi there Bo,the thing that struck me with your story was1.you don’t make excuses for yourself and you take responsibility for your actions. 2. you are very humble,I hope you and your ex wife make it and find that love that both of you had, your daughter I feel does have a wonderful father yes you have made mistakes but now move on and make the most of life. I wish nothing but the best for you and your family, one Day at a time please stay strong you will be in my prayers 💕💕🌈🇦🇺x

That song really touched my heart. Made me think of the first time I got to see my son after finally getting clean. It was such a miracle.

Congratulations and you have a beautiful life ahead of you. Where did you go? I am trying to help my 22 yr old son. He is in rehab. I don't know what to do next. What a beautiful song and tribute.

Being a recovering addict / alcoholic I know the struggle. One thing I find though is so many people terrified of withdrawal from ex. opiates, heroin. People need to suck it up and accept the dope sickness. wont kill you unless on benzos or alcohol. More people need to face the music and accept getting sick and then getting into 12 step program immediately.. My 2 cents..

Thank you for sharing your story. People say, "I hope you can relate to my story and just maybe it will help someone else." The stories may have different twists and turns at times, but, in the end, they're always the same. A simple story. (meaning length of time.) And a simple (yet absolutely beautiful and heartfelt) song at the end. Thank you again for your story, Bo. May God be with you, with me, to everyone who reads this comment, and to those who may not see it as well.

It is most definitely a progressive disease. Now in recovery I see how I personally progressed from weed at 15 to IV everything at 28.... I couldn't be more grateful to be alive at 32.

I dated heroin recovering addict. She gets the high when she replaces and I get the insanity. I chose to recover from the recovering and relapsing addict. What does it cost to have an addict clean a moth to his or her loved ones?

Part of getting sober is taking responsibility for your own actions. There are a lot of people that have bad things happen in their lives and they don't become lying, thieving, addicts. This guy is one of the only ones that didn't at least place some of the blame on something external.

Thanks for sharing. For me- I asked Jesus to come into my heart and be the Lord of my life. Someone told me the Bible said that Jesus loved me( it does say that). I needed that love desperately- so I asked him in. He showed up and continues to show up. I used to be an atheist too That was super lonely and depressing- but then you get a pass to do whatever you want cause you can believe there are no consequences to your choices. God bless you and protect you on every side from the Enemy who would rejoice at your failure. May you come to know Truth for yourself. May God bring healing and restore everything the evil one so joyously stole from you.

That’s crazy Bo I though I was the only one man. I’m not sober atm but when I was not to long ago I would wake up thinking I relapsed and it felt so real. I would wake up and go grab my wallet and lighter the I would go to the bathroom and open up my wallet still half asleep then I wouldn’t find anything in it and have a baby heart attack and wake up then remember I was clean and it was just a dream

You have battled the biggest war of your life, and you have achieved a succes that many people can never imagine they could achieve. My brother died from an alcohol addiction at the age of 29. Everytime I hear such a story, I'm not sad. I'm happy and cheering, I'm proud of you and I wish I could somehow help addicts in their struggle. Every won battle brings tears in my eyes
