One of the big issues when it comes to New York City is the lack of public transportation....subway service in particular. Hurricane Sandy knocked out pretty much the entire NYC Subway System due to the power loss and the immense flooding.
One of the major backlashes of this storm was not only the lack of public transportation, but also the lack of power in parts of Manhattan. Subway service was crippled and Shuttle Buses were replacing subway service along different sections.
On Wednesday, Brooklyn & Staten Island Express Buses returned to service but on a modified schedule and on a major detour as they went through the Manhattan Bridge and the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, 4th Avenue & Gowanus Expressway to get to their destinations. All the videos you see here are Express buses navigating off of the Manhattan Bridge exit and making their way around the detour
There will be many post Hurricane Sandy videos in both transit and non-transit situations uploaded on my main account and on my secondary account, ShaneAkACaitSith810. Be sure to subscribe and stay tuned.
