You made our day! Thank you for your reaction video to this great band! The GazettE are such great artists and accompanied us through years and decades. We send love to you, Shane! Just three hours ago we got to know that the bassist Reita passed away at the age of 42. He loved to eat meat and strawberry-cakes, he loved to spin around and dance with his bassguitar. Thank you so much for your video, Shane! ❤

RIP Reita... Thank you so much for another The Gazette reaction. But they aren't that young, they formed in 2002, so they exist 22 years.

This song and video are more like 17 years old…from their 3rd full-length album, Stacked Rubbish, released in 2007. It was the album that got me totally hooked and took me from smitten kitten to IN LOVE! ❤😻 The song is about father-daughter incest; some of the lyrics are in English although it is difficult to discern that with Ruki’s pronunciation. The beautiful flamenco style guitar parts were courtesy of Aoi (OW-EE!), who was on the far left; the crunchy bits were my new flame, Uruha (You-Roo-Ha…Den calls him You-Hoo-Ha! 😹), on the far right. I am still learning and discovering since I have only been into this band a couple of months now (as of this writing on 4/15/2024) and there is a TON of live footage I have yet to see….however, I would be inclined to recommend Nausea and Shudder from the 2006 Nameless Liberty Six Guns (NLSG) tour. It was the opening song and it’s a rollercoaster of a banger with a few different styles all in one delicious ride….cuz that’s how The GazettE rolls. Or sushi rolls, I guess, in this case….pass the sake! 💥😺🥂 And, as I conveyed to you via Patreon, the 2015 Japan Night in Taipei show is a great introduction and an excellent heavy-hitter sampler platter, in my opinion.... (Did I already ask someone to pass the sake??? 😹)

Nice to see you cover this band, I've been a fan of them since 2003. They've had so many styles and transistions and making some new music this year. Their heaviest album is Dogma which is their eigth album. They are one of the most popular bands in Japan. Gazerock is not dead X_X

Not sure if they are one of the most popular in Japan, but they have a good fan base.😊

something about the “don’t do the goo” made me think of reita holding up the gurgling medicine going “no drugs, have the courage to say no”. Ah, truly my favorite, this band has been my rock for the last decade, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

This is what I'll always love them, they have metal, punk, industrial, ballad, and pop sometimes. This is was the first song i heard of them in 2007 when they released this single and loved it instantly besides the lyrcis could be kinda conteoversial but that is their scent, and RIP Reita. I'm just glad that I least I could see them live with him. Their discography is eclectic that think is worth give a listen, from their poppy rock indies era to their more metal mainstream stuff If I would recommend you one or two MV to react to, should be DOGMA and PLEDGE (yeah, they like to name their songs in upper caps) so you can see their own contradictory but awesome contrast

they're monsters, there's not a single bad song from their 10 albums.

Amen...just thinking about Reita's infectious bass grooves on songs like Silly God Disco and Fadeless...and countless others, of course! 🤘I've only been a fan for about 2 months of this writing (since February 2024) so the news of his passing was very jarring and unfathomable...may he rest in peace.... ❤

They are great live, I saw them in Japan in 2005 in the Peace & Smile Carnival Tour. Great energy, performance, and sound. Ruki is the singer, Uraha and Aoi on guitar, Kai on drums (he's the "leader" of the band), and Reita on bass RIP Reita. I don't know how much you have heard of their music. They have so much different sounds. I worked at a record distributor at one point in the early 2000's and the people there were like 🤢 with all my Japanese music. (The GazettE, Kaggra, , Miyavi, Dir en Grey, Deco La Hopping, Exist Trace, Amano Tsukiko, X Japan, Gackt, L'arc~en~Ciel, Malice Mizer, Luna Sea....)

Shane you definitely should heck out lives. They are insanely good and I cannot stress enough how important it is to check their concerts out because that's definitely their zone, their specialty. They were born to be rock stars. Answering your questions sir, fav album - Dogma., fav song - Chizuru. Have been to their concerts 5 times both in Japan and outside and never regret a second, that was the best experience in my life. Definitely recommend Dim Scene live, it's personally one of my favourites and the live is very impressive (the specific one that you need is uploaded by the user 馬甲不辣甲) Hope you'll continue exploring amazing things this band does! Let's all support them and show our love in such tragic times
