So Great! Brings back so many memories. I was playing in a pit orchestra, conducted by the woman who wrote this song. That was in the 70's at Hofstra University, on Long Island, New York. She told me that the "other" guy listed as a writer, only changed a word or two, then added his name. I've been listening to this song and this version and very video since 2018. This song always put me in tears whenever I listen to it in 2018. I had some issues with my then boyfriend and eventually, when I realized that it wasn't really the same as the first few years of our relationship, I decided to let him go. This song has been my company and got me through a realization that if one cannot reciprocate your love, it's best to let them go than holding unto them. You're only hurting yourself and the person.
