Has anyone here actually landed a job with no prior experience after completing the certification? Im 37 no college degree and at a crossroads in life where I'm tired of working my shitty warehouse job. Im thinking of joining the carpenter union because it's good money guaranteed and easy to get into. But im not excited at all about doing it and working in the cold and rain in WA. Plus I've been battling chronic Lyme disease the past two years which makes physical labor nearly impossible when it flares up. Aaaaaannnnddd my gf just broke up with me so im going through it down bad in a pit of sorrow and heartbreak. TMI i know. I just need a change. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks internet friends.

In somewhat the same boat as you, 39 and tired of working a retail job with no growth or at least out of my area. The real question is what would you like to do to avoid warehouse, carpenter or any physical labor? I recently completed Google Digital Marketing/Ecommerce certification program so I can learn to market my own sites and maybe open my own Ecommerce store. The reality is you'll need to build a portfolio no matter which certification program you choose to do. Hope this helps!

My advice is to start doing! It's no use to you to sit and wonder "if anyone got a job using Shane's advice" the point is there are so many free or very inexpensive opportunities to gain skills and qualifications at the moment. That means it's worth taking a chance on yourself. In the end at least you would have gained an in demand skill with one of these certification (that's what makes it a valuable option)! Look at it this way, If you don't have the skills you don't stand a chance.

Is data analyst still in demand given the threat of AI??
@AbsoluteKelvinАй бұрын
Most of the jobs, A.I. is growing exponentially and will replace and make human analyst obsolete, as A.I. can do it faster and more accurate 24/7 instantly combing through massive amount of data in seconds. Biggest thing is gapping the missing links between departments and specialized human roles. A.I. can analyze and link every bit of data which is difficult between humans in specialized departments being able to communicate effectively such as playing telephone. A.I. does not have that problem and can do it instantly. Everyday those tech companies are finding way to replace their work force for bigger profits for share holders.

Hello, I've been an educator for 27.5 years. I've tried following various people and mentor programs. I haven't been successful in turning my educational skills into remote positions even though I have a Specialist degree in Educational Technology. I'm needing someone to assist instead of someone who wants to make a fast dollar.
@admin6228Ай бұрын
Excuse me, you should write what assistance you need and the goal or objective you're trying to reach
@kyriawms07Ай бұрын
@admin6228 Well, my goal is to transition from education to a remote position. I have a specialist in educational technology (that I've never used before), and I live in the mid-south. I'm trying to maintain my salary or increase my salary.

@@kyriawms07 I am also a former educator (not nearly as many years as you), and I am looking into project management. A lot of the skills that we've acquired in education that may not seem like a lot to those who aren't teachers or former educators, but they are very much transferrable. The key is pitching it correctly. Examples Classroom management -> group management Communicating with parents and students -> communicating to stakeholders Lesson planning -> writing test scripts Inputting grades -> data documentation Progress monitoring and reteaching -> monitoring and quality control Organizing field trips -> project management Parent teacher conferences -> facilitate team meetings The key that I've found is to show how what you did in education is equal to what they are looking for in the job. For instance, if you are applying for a position that is looking for someone who can lead teams of 20 to successfully manage a project from start to finish, you wouldn't necessarily say that "I managed six middle school classes with 30 kids each and got them to a 90% pass rate for the state test." Instead, you'd align it more with what they need without necessarily modifying what you did. In a different setting, middle school and state testing wouldn't matter / translate well. However, the 90% success rate and management of 180 (30 per group) people would, as may the strategies you used in the classroom to get them there. My suggestion would be to list out all the things you do in the classroom / for the classroom / for the school on a regular basis, even if it seems mundane and basic. From there, find a job that you want to apply to or a career field that you want to move into and align your list to what they are looking for. From there, modify your resume's objective and cover letter to match that. Hope this helps!
@admin6228Ай бұрын
@kyriawms07 I don't advise capitalizing on something you have not used. Instead, see what's available among available remote jobs and gear for what you feel you can do. Good luck
