Is it possible to have a dynamic tooltip? For example, there will be different messages that will appear depending on where the mouse hovers on the drop down options?
@ShanesCows4 жыл бұрын
Each control only gets one tooltip. Maybe use transparent rectangles to get what you want?

Hi Shane! I am having an issue where everything works fine in preview but when I publish I see "Builtinicon:Message" in the label that is supposed to display the tooltip for the selected tooltip icon. I saw your comment saying to change the "Message" variable to "varMessge" but PoweApps underlines the variable name in red and the error reads: "Name isn't valid. This identifier isn't recognized.". Is there somehwere I am supposed to define varMessge?
@ShanesCows3 жыл бұрын
Sorry I am slow. Yes, you need to Set(varMessage, "Chewy was here") I don't remember where in the app we do it but I did show that part.

Shane, thanks - great video. I implemented the solution and it worked great on two screens, but on two others where I have set the "Text" field of the pop-up label to the variable 'Message', Power Apps seems to always display this as "Builtinicon:Message" instead of the variable content, even once it is set. If I delete 'Message' from the "Text" field and re-add it, the functionality works fine until I close/publish the app and then it reverts back to showing "Builtinicon:Message" -- am I missing something obvious? I can't figure out why this is occurring.
@ShanesCows5 жыл бұрын
Try changing your variable name to varMessage to avoid the confusion?

Hi Shane, First, nice video! I definitely recommend this solution for tooltips. Question for you. This solution for tooltips handles mouse-centric people. However, for the Keyboard-centric, they can still access the fields behind the greyed-out rectangle by tabbing (I was a little surprised at first but then realized I was only covering the screen with the grey-out rectangle). I was curious what you do for tabbing friendly people??? (I hope you don't say change the DisplayMode of every tabable control to account for the tooltip when it is set to display...)

The documentation for the Rich Text Editor (in the help documentation) is difficult to understand. Can you help?

For example, the first submit of a button it'll patch the project along with the date/time, now on a second pressed of button should compute the duration on how long the activity takes. Hope you can help me. Thanks in advance.

You need to subtract the value you first patched from the current time. Probably should use Patch to make it easier.
