This is the first film I've seen Akwafina in which I feel like it really suits her. In Ocean's 8, Crazy Rich Asians and Raya and the Last Dragon she was just played the same character who seemed out of place in all of them. Me too. I thought it was a series (for whatever reason) and was all like 'ugh. I'll just watch this when I got really nothing else.' Luckily I didn't wait that long, because I LOVE this movie. The fighting is one of the best and prettiest I have ever seen. The scenes are beautiful, the story is halfway solid, and the characters are almost all relatable and funny.

I think more specifically, there was room to improve, such as Katy getting past her fear of failure and really committing to learning archery. But they were also still genuinely happy as they were, and they don't need to give that up. The sister in fact serves as a foil: she was happy with her fight club, but she wound up still wanting more and took over the Ten Rings. Whereas Shang and Katy went back to having dinner with the same old friends from the beginning, and took Wong to their favorite karaoke bar to unwind.
