So heartbreaking when she's talking about not having enough to eat at lunch time; she had to sit and watch her friends eating real food, she's always been so humble even though she's worth 350,000,000, I think all of her hardships have made her who she really is, a wonderful woman, love her!!

No child should ever be/ go hungry. I think back to a family of kids that I had gone to elementary school with. They had nothing. The kids were so tiny and skinny. Probably malnourished. Their house had caught on fire at one point, and every day they came to school their clothes smelled of smoke. I don't even remember them having lunches most of the time. This was back in the 1970s, and they have stuck in my mind to this day. I don't even think the teachers checked on them to see if they were eating, or what was going on. I think the teachers thought they were just poor dirty kids, and did not inquire about anything. Yet I remember one guy in class one day who had forgotten his lunch and the teacher asking the rest of us in the class if we had any we could share with this boy. But never do I recall the teacher asking to give some of our lunch to those poor kids. Seriously it bothers me to this day over 40 years later. I think about those kids and that family often. Wherever they are I hope they are doing ok.

I have never really played Shania twains music, But I have been in love w/Ms Ross since I was 5years old.When I heard the Supremes,I only heard one voice ."Hah Hah"The one thee only miss Ross.Once the masterpiece has been done,No one can top that with anyone else's music, The masterpiece was done the first-time with Ms Ross and Lionel Richie.Just can't touch it! Os canadenses são parecidos com os brasileiros. Abraçam-se, dão beijinhos laterais. São bem afetivos. Bem diferente dos americanos que mantêm distância, não se abraçam nem se beijam afetuosamente. É por isso que a Shania é diferente no seu trato com outras pessoas. Ela mora ou já morou durante muitos anos nos EUA , mas manteve seu jeito de ser canadense. Canadá, aliás, é um país muito lindo. Não fosse seu frio intenso, até eu gostaria de morar lá. Vi uma reportagem mostrando o Canadá e me encantei. Não aguentaria frio intenso de lá. Viraria picolé. Sou mesmo de país tropical. Com 39 anos, Shania estava com beleza exuberante.

Read Shania's book. It is so good, and damn depressing in a lot of parts. After reading her book I have never looked at a Cherry Blossom the same way. I buy them every now and then in honor of Shania's mother. As her mother liked them, and they did not have a lot of money, so a Cherry Blossom to her mother was a huge treat. if you don't know what a Cherry Blossom is they are a chocolate here in Canada. It is a nutty chocolate outer shell, and inside is a cherry with a cream liquid center. Google them, you will see. Whenever I see them in the store I think of Shania's mother. A simple Cherry Blossom that cost next to nothing, and that for Shania's mother was her treat. But when you have no money, or very little money, something like a Cherry Blossom chocolate is a luxury.
