One major thing to note is that Shanks was very serious in his attack. After using future sight to see the deaths of his protected crews, he was immediately amped up to eliminate the threat at once. This isn't like Kaido or Big Mom playing with their food- Shanks was bloodlusted, pissed, and caught Kidd off guard. The closest equivalent I can give is "Homicidal Drunk" Kaido flattening Gear 4 Luffy on the rooftop round 3. Of course, none of the three are at Shanks' level yet, but this instance was especially serious.

I think shanks one shot kidd was something we have seen before. It reminds me of oden one shot by kaido when he was distracted. I don't know at which level kidd is but i think his attack power is much more compared to his durability. And i think watching one piece universe until now, I conclude that oda decide big shots by durability and stamina not by attacking powers. Examples can be wb, kaido, big mom, even luffy etc.

Kaido has been referred to as the "Strongest Man in the World" several times in the manga, and it's not because Shanks defeated the weakest Captain Supernova in the main trio with 1 hit, just as base Kaido defeated Luffy with 1 hit (who it's a Zoan, i.e. much more resistant), which will change that

I think power wise Kaido is slightly stronger, but Shanks can nullify future sight. In other words, if you fight Shanks, you will be weaker than you usually are which has to count for something, so I think Shanks has the edge.

@@shyamsunder9994 Kaido became known as the "strongest man in the world" apparently after Whitebeard's death (this was said by Zoro in chapter 997, Kaido is also called that by Kinemon and the Kid in the following chapters). And Shanks should be called the "observation Haki killer" because his Rei's Haki is absurd and destabilizes opponents (just like he did to Greenbull) preventing them from concentrating and using Kenbushoku, but this should hardly work in opponents of the same or higher level than him.

I think Shanks is overrated in chapter 1079 Shanks quite angry he used one of his strongest attacks (I claim it was one of the strongest because he had rage) but this attack is not even compared to Luffy's Bajrang Gun attack Luffy knocked out Rob Lucci with a random punch Lucci is probably more durable than Kid because he has awakened Zoan fruit and unlike Shanks having rage, Luffy wasn't even serious when he punched, he didn't even feel the need to use haki Luffy's stamina is also on a whole other level. To kill this man, you have to cut off his head or something. He can make his heart work the way he wants.

Correct me if I'm not remembering correctly, but Kid didn't need to use or improve his haki to use his DF ability on Big Mom, and Law struggled for a bit because he did. And yeah Shanks is for sure stronger than Blackbeard, so there is no comparison between Law vs BB and Kid vs Shanks. The reason I and everyone else is dogging on Kid is because he totally had a choice to fight Shanks and he chose to fight only to get one tapped.
