Had a laptop years ago that "covered" the sd card slot with a full size removable dummy card that sat flush with the edge when inserted; wish more things did that instead of flimsy rubber covers

Looking at the amount of new devices with AK4493 I assume that Asahi Kasai renewed their chip manufacturing :) As for M6 Ultra, IMO price is a bit too high, as you can add just a few hundred bucks, and get M7. I'm not a marketologist, but I think price gap should be slightly bigger

Any comparison to the ibasso dx300 or dx240 , does the m7 feel very heavy in the pocket compared to dx240? is the difference worth to get the m7 instead of the dx240? any suggestions would be really helpful!!!Thx

Do the headphone jacks work also as a line out ports to connect the dap with external amp?

sure, virtually any device with headphones out can be used this way with a proper cable. and many players (including this) has a separate mode with a fixed volume for that

M7 vs DX240 vs Kann Max. Which one is better among the three. I have IERZ1R and IE900. I prefer neutral with slight warmth.

@@PortaFi Actually, it turned out to be bright for me. And Apple Music sounded worse than Tidal. In medium gain, Apple Music was very narrow and in my face kind whereas Tidal doesn’t sound like that and it sounded better. Lot. Difference was reduced by a lot when player was put on High Gain. But still there. Never found such kind of SQ difference in any of my DAPs before. And also found M7 to be better optimised in High Gain. Is this same for you too?

@@phanindramvr2215 my M7 was a loaner unit, so I returned it. I didn't find a huge difference between gains with regular sensitivity IEMs. But if you have some model that likes more power, difference definitely can be big

whatever review i watch daps are copmared to daps, dac amps to dac amps and dongles to dongles. it is understandable but how can i learn about sq differences in each genre? for example does a dap like this sound better than mojo 2 or it is only about functionality or does mojo 2 sound better than a good dongle like cayin su6? i wantt to buy a portable product based only on sound quality, i am willing to pay for sq but not for functions alone unless they give better sound. which one is for me, this m7, mojo 2 or cayin su6 dongle?

I can't say for every single reviewer, but in my case, it's a matter of time first of all. For me, reviews are just a hobby, and I need to do a daily job, so I'm trying to keep the number of comparisons reasonably low. And in this case, comparing the similar types of devices makes more sense, as more people consider the different devices of the same type (there are some exceptions, but not many of them) Also, it's not fair to compare devices with their own battery and USB powered, as first will have an advantage in some cases As for particular Mojo 2, unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to test it. And Cayin Ru6 is great, of course, but not at a level where it can compete with M7. But in many cases you can definitely select RU6 over any other DAP: it's more portable, it's more affordable, and smartphones are usually a good transport with a decent UI

Hello, in general, similar DAC doesn't mean anything, and in general, M17 is the best one due to no-compromise amplification But at the same time, you have a really sensetive IEMs, so they don't require that amount of power, so you can make a choice based on desired sound signature. This three players have a pretty different sound, so choice is a matter of taste

Well, M7 is a bit better in terms of sound quality, tad better dynamcis, control and staging. But it's also more expensive, and for this price you can get iBasso DX240, which I prefer even a bit more :)

they are pretty different in sound, so it's a matter of your preference. RS6 has quite a unique signature due to it's DAC, more massive and tight, while M7 is more forward in representation

@@TheYeowyap unfortunately I can't decide here for you. I'm an audio enthusiast, so for me, it's OK to spend a lot to upgrade the sound, and I'd upgrade to M7. but many people are looking for a better price-quality ratio, and mid-segment DAPs like M6 are better here
