Running up the score isn't the problem, it's running a fake knee from victory formation that's the problem. You don't do that. Victory formation is there to protect players from injury. If you want to run up the score that's fine just do it from a goal line package then. Don't take something that's there to protect the players then spam it to gain a competitive advantage. The equivalent would be signaling for a fair catch and then running with it after the coverage team let up (if that were allowed). Eventually someone would just ignore the fair catch signal and light up the returner and guys would get hurt unnecessarily.

Locally in New Orleans, the team confirmed their desire to get Williams that TD. Former Saints players doing local TV cheered the decision, and valued team's reasoning as a collective. This season has been very frustrating for both the fans, as well as the team. Dennis Allen lost the locker room a long time ago, and the Saints won this game today for their fans and for each other. I hate when ppl say JW had the same team, Tom and Baker. That is a lie. AB Gronk and more plus different playbook. Plus JW was forced to through deep balls all year because that's what they wanted. Tom ran plays he wanted to JW don't have that luxury (which he shouldn't) but definitely not the same team

Jamies didn’t have Tristan Wirfs, Gronk, AB, Fournette or a New England style playbook. I definitely don’t think he would’ve won the Super Bowl but that was not the same team

Winston had same team basically and same coaching staff. He just couldn’t stop throwing interceptions. BA said it before, Winston won’t throw the check downs when he should. A lot of plays were designed to go deep but always had a check down to throw to if WR’s weren’t open deep.

@davidmontgomery1442 When tom first got in TB they didn't look good at all, and it was obvious it was because of Bruce Arians offense (The same offenseinsive system Peyton manning threw 30 int in). Everyone complaining about this does it in Madden tho 😂. Plus Shannon used to be the main one telling skip “don’t get mad at a person for not dribbling the ball out in the last 20 seconds …. @@shadow_td it’s the same in basketball 😂. If you’re up, and the shot clock is off, it’s tradition for the other team to dribble out the clock. Now…. There’s usually 1-4 times a year where someone doesn’t and they take an easy shot and it’s a big hoopla about it the next morning. Shannon was ALWAYS on the side of “if it’s not against the written rules it’s legal”. Why is this situation so different?

Gimme a break. I’m from Atlanta. Falcons are my team…but so what. Sick of this bs in all sports. If you’re on the field you’re SUPPOSED to play. Greater insult to just lie down and pretend you’re doing the losing team a favor for NOT trying to beat them on every play. That your so pitiful that we gonna stop playin bc now we are considering your feelings…not winning every play. Your are pros. You really need pandering?? And for gods sake when has this become known as a favor for the other team? Strategically it makes sense if you don’t want to risk injuring your own players on the dominating team. But the losing teams feelings? Heck no. We should be embarrassed. Pain is one heck of a motivator. Just play the game while you’re out there. Like I said, It’s my team’s fault for sucking so bad anyway. PS. Maybe all this has more to do with the point spread on betting…..just sayin. Or facilitating the ILLUSION of more competitive games in the NFL. Artificially keeping the scores closer during blowouts.
