Why not.. if there a will there will be a way. If you are a teochew, you should go there once at least in your life time. I promise you will not regret it.

@@Cys62 My brother went before with address of relatives. But he said that the place there was totally different now and we have lost touched with the relatives.. anyway the relationship was a sent money to them relationship during my dad time.

@@SuccessforLifester well, you could just go there as a holiday then.... Do not worry about the deed your dad did. My grandad did similar things too, though his siblings appreciated all the financial assistant from him. Granddad's family still resides in swatauw, though originally our root is in jieyang, in teochew .. kekyo. Anyway, take care... Note: of course so many changes would have already taken place. Been back in early 1990ish... then it was still not as develop as when we went back around 2018... everything was so different. Lots of development.

@@Cys62 No la, didn't go so far back. It was my dad generation. This sending of money at times become a family squabble issue. My granddad generation is a complicated one with later family drama that could be written as a novel

We have the same ancestry. Was there during Dec 2019. Same ancestral shrine. And we also went to eat at the same restaurant.. Haha
