Shape of the City: Moshe Safdie with Paul Goldberger
Architecture critic Paul Goldberger interviews architect Moshe Safdie. Safdie shares examples of his work, including the then-recently finished National Gallery of Canada and Habitat 67. They discuss how Safdie adapted his architectural school thesis (McGill University) into Habitat 67, a three-dimensional, prefabricated neighborhood complex designed to introduce the amenities of single-family homes into an urban environment. They also discuss Safdie’s approach to urban housing and the architectural competitions that he has entered. The discussion concludes with audience questions.
