The shape of the Earth, for a long time, was believed to be flat. Due to the rotation of Earth around the sun, it has the shape of an oblate spheroid, bulging at its Equator, flattened at its poles. In this video, we discuss the true shape of the Earth and the observable evidence that supports that the Earth is an oblate spheroid.

The spherical shape of the earth-the Earth is round-has actually been known since the time of the ancient Greeks. Pythagoras must have been the one who first proposed that the Earth was round sometime around 500 B.C. He showed the Moon must be round by observing the shape of the terminator (the line between the part of the Moon in light and the part of the Moon in darkness) as it moved through its orbital cycle. Pythagoras reasoned that if the Moon was round, then the Earth must be round as well. After that, sometime between 500 B.C. and 430 B.C., Anaxagoras determined the shape of the Earth's shadow on the Moon during a lunar eclipse, which was also used as evidence that the Earth was round. In 1519, Mageran's voyage proved beyond reasonable doubt that the earth is round. In 1953, Copernicus proposed the heliocentric theory, debunking the theory that the sun, moon, and other planets revolve around planet Earth; instead, celestial bodies revolve around the Sun, and then, using a telescope, Galileo Galilei supported the Copernican theory. But it was against Christianity's interpretation of the Bible about celestial bodies and the universe, and he was charged with spreading heresy. But still, just like in that dark age, some people are still spreading false interpretations of religious scriptures and conspiracy theories, but two Muslim astronauts have already performed Islamic rituals in space and read the Quran, and Christianity also accepts that the Earth is round. Race to the centre of the earth: After the Russian borehole and the US borehole during the Cold War era, now that China has started another borehole project, they're trying to find out what is inside the centre of the earth. Are we going to be involved in this race?
