I believe we have 5 drum battles in work right now...you know, things like that. Hello David and thanks for the kind comment! We are always working on new techniques too for stick control. The practice pad is always a good place to spend time with this approach. That's great that you have good wrist movement, because having good stick control is a balance between the fingers and wrists. *To work on finger control. Try working on your strokes on your pad on each hand start with 1 stroke and then 2 and 3 and so on, up to 7, using only your fingers. Then go backwards back to 1 and then start the same with the other hand. Repeat this exercise as you can. Remember to start slow and work your speed up gradually over a couple of weeks. *To strengthen your wrists you can get a pillow and work on 2 and 3 stroke rolls on one hand at a time. Alternating 2 on one hand and 2 on the other and so on. Remember to start slow and work your speed up gradually over a couple of weeks. These techniques will certainly help your stick control. ;) Try to work on this once or twice a day for about 10 to 15 min. each and in a few weeks you will be flying around the kit and feeling much stronger with your sticking!!
