Hi I'm new to all this. Is this for animation in rhino? Or can you please explain what other uses there is for grasshopper?

Grasshopper can be used for many reasons. You can create all sort of logics using nodes that have specific functions. Animations is not its main purpose but it is possible. Mainly it is used by the Architecture, industrial engineering, jewelry, automotive and naval industries but pretty much any industry can find a use for Grasshopper!
