Just in the process of building my machine now. This video and the latest version of the instructions don't see to capture that the drag-chain bracket that you mount the wiring harness to on the gantry is shipped as a separate part and is not pre-mounted on the left and right rails. While it appears that it could be mounted in two different positions, based on the position in this video and the manual, I believe it should be mounted to the set of holes closer to the center of the gantry. Hope this helps anyone else wondering where to connect the drag cable to!

Just finished building mine and besides a few missing screws which I was able to substitute with the spare ones, only one issue remained. The grounding block should come with 2 M4x30 screws, but mine are M4x35 so the block won’t tighten since the extra few mm are enough to bottom them out before the block tightens. No big deal, I’ll make them shorter with the Dremel tomorrow and that should do the trick. Might want to check on that though since I am probably not the only one who got the wrong ones.

Should the bed of the table not reach all the way to the end of the CNC to attach to the last of the 4 aluminum brackets? I think I was sent the wrong parts possibly?
@carbide3d4 күн бұрын
The table top should be wider than the CNC, leaving the machine fully supported.

Before ordering a machine, I want to already have my table built. My intention is to build a folding table that will help me save space in my small garage and I want to know is there a way to secure the machine to the table so that I can fold it up.

Hello and congratulations for the video! Is it possible to control the spindle via software? I have a spindle with remote speed control 0...10 VDC

Got through putting mine together last night and noticed the router cable only just makes it through the cable harness. I'm sad to see I'll need to get a small extension to run it to the tables surge protector. Did I luck out with a shorter than normal Cable or is this intended, if so whats the reason?

on the specs, I see table size and footprint: Is the footprint the size our table should be, or is that the absolute bleeding edge of the machine itself, thus requiring a table to be larger than the said footprint ?
@carbide3dАй бұрын
The specs list the machine dimensions. Our table at HQ is 64”x 64”
@markmarlowe31282 ай бұрын
great video, just one question, is it possible to "upgrade" from a dimension to another? for exemple if i buy a 2X2 machine, and want to upgrade it to a 4X4 or 4X2, is it possible?
@carbide3d2 ай бұрын
Hey Mark, Changing machine size post-purchase is not economically feasible and is not offered. We recommend that you buy the largest machine you can accommodate. The 4x2 has proven quite popular and capable for those without the space for a 4x4. Its 4-foot width accommodates most projects, and Tiling toolpathing allows you to make larger projects when needed.

Do the hex keys come with the machine or should I buy some for construction? I have regular L shaped alens but those Ts do look like a time saver especially for the bed.
@carbide3d6 ай бұрын
There is a toolkit included. Everything you need to build the machine is in the box.

As mentioned, the T-Handles are nice for exactly that part of the job. On a 4x4, that's a lot of bolts

Kevin, would you accept a bribe in exchange for a video on tramming the Shapeoko 5 Pro? I just got my machine set up and running a couple weeks ago and I bought the recommended Edge Mini Pro Tram System, but I'm afraid (or possibly too lazy) to use it. You guys have a video (with Winston) from like 5 years ago, but the equipment's all different. Even if the principles are the same, it's knowing which screws to fiddle with that's giving me pause.
