Id love to know Dr Davis opinion on Discectomy Surgery. I have had Sciatica for a year and half I have a herniated disc at L4/L5 and Lumbar Spinal Stenosis and Im 62. Im just about to see a Spinal Surgeon in a Public Hospital as Ive been given options to have a Steroidal Injection or Discectomy by a different Surgeon who only works on private Insurance patients which I couldnt afford.

Great video, he's definitely right, back injuries take forever to heal. I've had sciatica for almost 8 months im now able walk long distances without much pain, before I could bearily walk to the bathroom due to lower back pain and sciatica due to disc herniation. Definitely can't over do it but also can't lay in bed all day either

It also depends on your personality and if you are used to pain. I have rheumatism and fibromyalgia which causes pain 24/7. A few months ago I started having problems caused by a lumbar hernia. Couldn’t do shit for a week. But started training as soon as I could get up. Each week I train something new and keep looking for the limits of my body. Yes sometimes you want to give up, but being in pain is a great motivator for me to keep going.

@@ShapeshiftWellness Thanks for responding. I will watch the video. Not bending or twisting for 7 years now, I’m just so scared. Than other things began to hurt, hip pain, knee pain, real bad Achilles tendinitis. My lower body is SO TIGHT. Not sure if it’s from constant neural tension or just muscles guarding. To avoid those new pains, I started avoiding more activities. I won’t step up or down curbs, avoid stairs, tying my shoes, bending to wash my legs in the shower (use a long brush) I pick things up off the floor with a grabber . It’s so bad Doc. And now I’m nervous because I don’t want to do too much too soon because I don’t know how weak or fragile I am now. Or maybe I’m not so weak and I’m just too damn fearful. It’s a nightmare.

Hi, what about rehabilitation and movement with Tarlov cysts? It’s not asymptomatic at all. I have a lot of tingling, prickling, electric sensations throughout my lower leg, my lower back where the cysts are located is so stiff, I’m dragging my foot, it’s making me go the restroom all the time. It’s unbearable pain, I’m afraid to do any movement. I walk but like I said my foot is dragging. At this point is surgery more necessary than trying to get out of this fear cycle and actually move? I want to exercise again.

@@ShapeshiftWellness I know swearing has become more common these days and when used like you did, it can be used to really emphasize a point. The difficulty I'm having is that I'd like to forward your video to some friends who I think could really benefit from all of your experience and wisdom. However I'm a bit hesitant because they are old school and aren't fond of swearing. It isn't just the F bomb and the word shit, but using God's name as well. I understand that to a lot of people it just doesn't matter but to some it does. I don't think using those words will keep most of your viewers from still watching, but it might keep some people from passing on your videos to people who can really use your help and the hope and healing it can bring. Masterclass is free 🤷♂️ Each step is different for each individual. What people need is a customized plan that meets them where they are at so they don’t do too little for too long or too much too fast, both of which result in re-injury. So “A B C” is different for each person.

This is SO case-specific. I'd need to actually go through a proper history and intake with you to give you any personalized advice. There are indeed cases where people should have surgery and it will result in good outcomes, but it depends on the dozens of questions I'd need to ask you personally on a consultation.
